Making It or Faking It

I've spent so much of my time thinking someone was my best friend when in reality it was just someone who I grew up with and sent all my time with till we graduated high school. College hit and we went our separate ways which took us five hours apart. Then I transferred for personal reasons and suddenly we were at the same school. However what I didn't realize that in my time away from this person I had changed. I grew to realize that friends didn't just use you and then put you off to the side till they needed you again. So when we were place back into each other's lives again I learned who I was and what I wanted. I wanted to be respected and I learned that all of my anger and was directed at one person. During depression you don't realize it but your body and your mind is trying to fight out the bad and take away the things are causing you to be where you are. Once you let go of those things a weight lifts and in some weird way you're back to normal. Well normal as in you feel like you again. What I didn't realize was someone who I lp thought was so important to me was the cause of my anxiety and depression. Not trying to blame someone for it in anyway. But because I gave them total control over my life. Who I hung out with, when I went out, what I did, the people I associated with, my daily schedule, and so on. I've taken back my control and released them from my life and what I've found is truly amazing. I'm me again. In a strange way though. I'm me again without someone who I thought would be around forever. But now I've learned no matter how much you care about someone if they are toxic or negative impact on your life you need to let them go.
