WHY DID I CHOOSE MY URL : It’s part of the very poignant ending lines of Red Dragon which brings to light the fact that humans have the capacity to make mercy but murder too. OF BLANKETS : Technically, no blankets. Just a sheet and comforter. 

     An amused noise escapes him: something between a scoff and laugh. His humor has always leaned toward the dark side of the spectrum, and working homicide and teaching at Quantico has only further exacerbated it. “Plagiarism exists in all forms it seems.” There’s a subtle quirk at the corner of his mouth---a faulty smile at best. “I suppose it’s like art to them. One’s work ‘inspires’ another.” 

     “I had considered it, but it’s difficult to say. The local PD didn’t ask for the bureau’s assistance until this last murder. All I have is photos and case files.“ He felt a certain disconnect from such cold, sterile things. It wasn’t the same as moving through the crime scene, through the same space as the killer. The thinking became harder to reconstruct when he only had printed images and an officer’s report to go on.      “Jack’s having me go to the latest crime scene in the morning. He’s hoping I’ll see something no one else did.” Will moved to sit at his desk, an overdue sigh escaping his lungs. “I’m not sure there will be much to find. It’s already been. . .” Contaminated was what he wanted to say, the first association which came to mind. “---processed.” 

I survived con and had a really fabulous time. So, things will hopefully get back to normal soon.

indeed. the costume is as good as it’s going to get at this point, so really all i have left to do is pack an overnight bag and buy snacks.

I’m too tired to properly write anything, but I’d like to start some new things. You can like this post and I’ll pop into your IMs and we can maybe plot a thing?

Once I get this convention past me this weekend, I’m going to work on developing some verses for this blog. Mostly verses for bbc Sherlock & The Fall and younger verses for Will.

    “Fixing people is not what I do, and it certainly can’t be done by changing out a few gears to manage abnormal behaviors or thoughts.” Perhaps the good doctor’s admittance would have been more shocking if Graham didn’t spend hours each day either examining crime scenes or lecturing about motive and forensics. His own thoughts were unsavory, and the associations he made were difficult to break. He watched the other for a silent moment, carefully lining up his words before speaking them. “You’re an intelligent man, Dr. Jekyll. I would assume if you thought you were a danger to yourself or others, you would have the sense to seek help.”

He’s surprisingly calm given the situation. Nigel either doesn’t know what has conspired or wants to hear it from Will. But there’s no desire for him to spill forth his secrets like an overflowing teacup. A breath drags into his lungs, slow and slightly uneven. He feels as if he’s playing a particularly dangerous came of cards, and if his poker face is flawed, it’ll give everything away.  “Why don’t you ask Hannibal? He could give you a better answer.” Stalling--it’s all his words do. He needs more time to think, to devise someone to diffuse this tension. “I’m not exactly his keeper.” 

    His gaze dropped to the singular photo. The physical build of this man was more substantial than the others, but was it truly significant to this killer? “Yes. . .but this isn’t as removed in the sense of using a gun. He wants to feel the struggle of his victims His strength is greater than those he chooses. Every kill validates that.” This much Will knew for certain. This strangler found a greater sense of power by using his hands to subdue and later kill his victims.      “There may have been a time in his life where he felt inferior. Perhaps it’s linked to some kind of childhood trauma or bullying.” He’d have to consult with Jack, ask if any connections had been established between them--old classmates or coworkers. “Do you think his victims are linked or merely random?”

    Coping measures---they all had some means of putting the job behind them. His never ran the gamut of substance abuse. Books offered a better escape, and his library was ever growing with psychiatric texts and works of fiction. There was a moment of hesitance as the question was turned onto Will, but for once, his gaze met Zeller’s.       “I imagine myself in some town on the coast fixing boat motors.” His father had done it for a living, taught Will everything he knew about the mechanics and fishing. It was only a thought, however, not a reality he usually considered. “But. . .it’s not really an option I could live with.”
