That dream… Make it come true!

"Don't know why he's complaining; half naked men can order me around every day."

"You're seriously saying you're going to join me with this? You haven't seen this thing...it's not a normal Pokémon."

*Kieran wasn't entirely sure what he had seen. It was a creature able to eat entire Pokémon whole and yet it seemed like it was using something or someone as well. It wasn't pecharunt since that issue had been sorted so it had to be another creature entirely but what? Either way it was too dangerous for another lesson to come with him.*

After realising that he hadn't actually introduced himself felt a bit embarrassed as normally it would be one of the first things he did. So trying to work up a smile in the face of all this introduced himself as well.*

"I'm Kieran, I wish we met in a better situation but it's nice to meet you...and thanks. It's not really something we see here."

*The young man wanted to know about the Pokémon that had been sent out but had to make do with the tidbits that had been shared.*

Silvally lowers its head to get a better look at Kieran as Gladion slings his bag over his shoulder and rifles through it. "What you saw is something called an Ultra Beast. It tore its way through a different dimension to get here." He realizes how insane that sounds, but since Kieran saw Guzzlord come from a portal in the sky, Gladion doubts he'll disbelieve him. "Ultra Beasts aren't Pokemon, but they do have types," he explains as he pulls out what appears to be a pink disc.

"Guzzlord-- that thing you saw, is dark-dragon," he finishes explaining, as what appears to be a large screw on Silvally's jaw twists and opens just enough for the pink disk to be inserted. Once the Fairy Memory is loaded, the Pokemon's feathers and tail begin to glow a faint pink.

"Since Silvally was made to fight the Ultra Beasts, he can change type."

That's a lot of information he just dumped on this poor kid. Hopefully, Kieran felt some kind of peace of mind knowing he was right, that giant, monstrous creature wasn't a Pokemon. His inability to catch it had nothing to do with a lack of skill.

"Yes it was and that's it..."

*Kieran had instinctively recoiled at the sight of the creature even though it was just an image. So there had been records of this...this thing somewhere, just not here. A small comfort but at the same time it meant someone somewhere had to have gone through the same thing he had.

It also meant that there was hope, to save this place from a creature that could cause untold destruction. Maybe afterwards he could comfort his former team and see if they wished to join him once more but for now he needed to focus.*

He didn't blame Lillie for thinking he chose himself and Type:Null over her-- it's exactly what he did, even if he thought it was what was best for all of them.

It won't change anything between him and his family, but he can, at least, make sure this kid doesn't go through this hell on his own.

Gladion tucks his phone back into his pocket. "Yeah, we can stop it, right?"

At the question, the Pokeball in his other hand opens; a burst of light springs out and flits to the side, taking the form of Silvally. The sight of it seems to be one of the few things that can get Gladion to smile. The trainer smiles as he places one hand on Silvally's neck. "This is Silvally," he explains, quickly realizing, in all the back and forth, he never introduced himself. "... and I'm Gladion. We... grew up in a place that researched those things."

"You're seriously saying you're going to join me with this? You haven't seen this thing...it's not a normal Pokémon."

*Kieran wasn't entirely sure what he had seen. It was a creature able to eat entire Pokémon whole and yet it seemed like it was using something or someone as well. *Why didn't he get it? That thing wasn't normal, it was terrifying and the worst part was that it came from the sky in what looked like a portal of some kind. That alone was proof that it wasn't a run or the mill Pokémon. Kieran was going to snap back but upon hearing Gladion tone it down decided to recount the event despite how it made him feel.*

"My team and I were training not too far from here when we noticed a rift in the sky. Something came down from it and landed. We decided to take a look but it looked like if muk and tentacruel fused and was huge.

As Kieran continued to talk, Gladion took his phone from his pocket. The international police probably didn't like that he kept pictures of the Ultra Beast attacks-- but Gladion had no trust in those who tried to keep things from him, so they're even.

A Muk and a Tentacruel... huge and...

"Porygon, pull up the UB-05 files."

A soft, delighted cry comes from the phone before the files appear on screen in the form of a letter. Tapping the letter triggered an animation of the letter opening, revealing several pictures Gladion could scroll through. The first was an Ultra Wormhole.

"This is what appeared in the sky, right?" He asks as he turns the Pory-phone's screen to face Kieran.

"And this is what came out of it?" His finger glides across the screen to show a picture of Guzzlord. First, it's a picture of the Ultra Beast from the front, with its massive, bottomless stomach. Next came a picture from the side, with another arm reaching out from that wide-open mouth.

What it did next was terrifying.

Then it's got to be an Ultra Beast, but... when did Ultra Wormholes start opening up outside of Alola? Was this a new species of Ultra Beast? From a different dimension? It's-- possible. Gladion glanced down at the Pokeball in his hand, feeling it shudder in his grasp. That was all the confirmation he needed.

Glancing back up to lock eyes with Kieran —his posture became much less rigid. He's got the same look in his eyes that Lillie had when she wanted to confront their mother.

"Safe isn't what I came here to be, and how do you know you can handle it? You don't know what it is."

He knows he needs to tone down the intensity. He knows how terrifying the Ultra Beasts are. This kid doesn't need to be scared of him too.

"No...I'm not, I just didn't want my friends to be hurt so I let them go."

*Honestly Kieran wasn't sure what to say, would this person believe what he had seen? No normal person would so the young man simply chose to not say it. Once he was done here it would be time to face that thing again and if he was successful maybe he could reunite with his Pokémon, his friends again. Until then it was way too dangerous to even consider it.*

Ever the obstinate teen, when Kieran warns Gladion that he needs to leave, he steps closer.

"What about you? If there's something dangerous around here, why didn't you take your Pokemon and run with them?"

Kieran doesn't need to answer. Gladion realized what this kid was planning as soon as his question was asked.

"Thank you for always being there for me. I don't want to do this but it's for your safety. All of you are free."

That was either the fifth or sixth Pokémon Gladion had seen fleeing from some point in the distance. Gladion hasn't quite gotten the lay of the land yet, so he can't say for certain that they aren't native to this forest, but they don't seem to know where they're going, and they don't seem particularly happy.

Thinking that those Pokémon had escaped from some kind of poacher, Gladion grips tightly onto Silvally's Pokeball and follows the footsteps of the fleeing Pokémon.

Instead of coming face to face with a hostile poacher, however, he found himself face to face with a... boy.
