Shout out to @berryconfetti for being the real MVP and helpin’ make this happen (because I totally didn’t spend an hour+ fussing around trying to do this on my own)

(Base game version) Sims In Bloom: A Sims 4 Legacy Challenge ☆゚*・。*・
I won’t be play testing this one, so please let me know if you come across any issues!
( Original version )
General rules
For each generation complete the designated aspiration, career and skills.
Asterisk * marked points are optional, you can choose to complete these to make the challenge more difficult.
There are two colours associated with every generation. Use these for genetics (berry/vanilla), or just clothes and house decor if you wish.
Start each new generation with a small house/apartment and 1000 simoleons. If you want to make the challenge harder, you can start each generation on an empty lot with 0 simoleons (rags to riches style!)
Play on any lifespan you wish (short is not recommended).
If you decide to play this challenge @ me or use the tag #sib or #SimsInBloom if you want me to see!
Gen 1 - Daisy (white, yellow)
Gardening has always been your passion. Owning a large, healthy garden is all you’ve ever wanted in life, even if your nails constantly have soil under them and you have so many broken pots you’ve lost count. Your happy place is sitting in the shade of the fruit trees that you grew yourself from tiny saplings. You wonder what your family will grow to do, and hope that they will flourish just as beautifully as your garden has. This is the start of your family legacy!
Aspiration: Freelance botanist
Traits: Cheerful, Clumsy, Loves the outdoors
Career: Self-employed/None
Skills: Gardening, fishing, fitness
Earn money by selling the produce you’ve grown/collected yourself
Grow a cowplant and keep it alive for as long as you live (if it dies, immediately plant a new one)
Grow 5 perfect plants
Marry a sim who also has the ‘loves the outdoors’ trait
Hello!! I started putting this challenge together back in March when I played Persona 3 Reload and made that my entire personality for a while. I'm a master procrastinator so I didn't get much down at first other than a vague outline but I'm SOOOO glad I waited because the Lovestruck and Life & Death packs have added SO MUCH to this challenge. Really it was the release of Life & Death and the tarot theme of the pack that inspired me to come back to this and it ends the challenge so nicely. I'm obsessed.
This is a 14 generation legacy challenge with each gen representing one of the first 14 of the 22 major arcana cards, beginning with The Fool and ending your journey with Death.
Anyway... below's the rules. If you play this I'd really love to see so please tag me here or on bluesky (daethvalley.bsky.social) !!
Updates:
8/12/2024: The Fool can now get jobs to be able to complete the Renaissance Sim aspiration.
Generation 0: The Fool
Young and vulnerable, you have not yet experienced any of life’s challenges, and thus embrace all that lies ahead without fear or worry.
Your founder will begin as a Young Adult with §0 and nothing to their name besides the clothes they’re wearing and the companion at their side. Representing the start of your journey, the Fool generation will lay the foundations of hopefully a long standing and successful legacy.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Create a new Sim. The only limitations are that they must have the Kleptomaniac, Goofball and Cat/Dog Lover traits and the Chief of Mischief aspiration. Their gender, appearance, likes/dislikes and turn ons/offs are all up to you. If you choose to download a Sim from the gallery, they must be a blank slate with no skills, milestones, or achievements.Â
Your sim must start the game with or adopt a fluffy companion - Cat or Dog is up to you (a Dog is suggested) and the corresponding Cat/Dog Lover trait.Â
Move into an empty lot. The location is up to you (you’ll only spend one generation here) and once moved in, cheat your money down to §0.
There are no rules about how you make or spend money other than you must never reach higher than level 3 in a career.Â
Complete the Chief of Mischief aspiration.Â
Complete the Renaissance Sim aspiration.Â
Purchase the Brave trait from the Rewards Store (8,000 satisfaction points)
Have at least one child (this is a legacy after all!) and have the best relationship with them.Â
Marriage is optional but only after completing your aspirations.Â
Swipe an object every time you leave your home lot.
Master at least one instrument.
The Fool embraces anything and everything that life throws at them. Accept all self discovery moments.Â
Traits: Kleptomaniac, Goofball, Cat/Dog Lover
Aspiration: Chief of Mischief AND Renaissance SimÂ
Max skills: Mischief, one instrument.Â
Career: Various

Raised by the Fool, you see the potential of the world laid ahead of you. You feel a spiritual calling to the Magic Realm and determination to do whatever it takes to master its sacred power.Â

Drop out of high school to focus on your magical studies.
Complete the Spellcaster skill tree and become a magical Virtuoso.
Have at least one child with one of the Sages (don’t move in with them as they will lose Sage status).Â

Aspiration: Spellcraft & Sorcery OR Purveyor of Potions, Crystal Crafter
Max skills: Gemology

Generation Rules:Â
Leave Glimmerbrook and move somewhere peaceful.Â
Don’t contact your parents after you leave - they’re in another realm!Â
Start afresh: Complete the Inner Peace aspiration and gain a clear perspective.Â
Get married and have at least one child with any sim.Â
At least one child must be born a Spellcaster, that is your heir.Â

Generation 3: The Empress
You are a 3rd generation Spellcaster, not that you’ve ever had a connection to the Magic Realm. Still, your strong magical bloodline connects you to the elements and the natural world. You bring life - a large, happy family and a flourishing garden.Â
Generation Rules:
Complete your childhood aspiration (you choose which!)Â
Never use your Spellcaster abilities.
Move to Henford-On-Bagley and embrace the simple way of living. Your home must have the Simple Living lot trait applied.

Max skills: Fitness, Charisma
Career: Grand Marshal (Military - Officer branch)Â

Your parent taught you absolutely everything you’d need to know, and as a result you’ve grown into an equally diligent sim. Drawn to knowledge over strength, you studied hard and under the mentorship of your parent, became a master orator. Beloved by all, it was inevitable you’d be voted in as the National Leader. However, romance wasn’t something that interested you, and your work responsibilities left you little time for the one child you did have.Â

Career: Chief of Justice (Law - Judge Branch)

Your parents had high expectations for you and your sibling, who couldn’t be more different from you. You were a born Genius while they excelled socially, and you often felt as if you were in competition with eachother. As a teen you retreated further inside yourself and preferred the company of your family dog to spending time with other sims. You spent your time learning everything you could about computers and gaming, and eventually made a living from your bedroom.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Complete the Whiz Kid aspiration as a Child.Â
Have a negative relationship with your sibling.Â
Attend high school but only to study.Â

Your parents will raise your child.Â
Traits: Genius, Loner, Geek
Character values: Argumentative
Aspiration: Computer Whiz
Max skills: Video Gaming, Programming
Career: Project Manager (Tech Guru)
Generation 10: Wheel of Fortune
You were raised by loving grandparents, but you felt a bit abandoned by your parent that hardly saw you. You wanted to rebel against the life your grandparents laid out for you and in the spirit of the founder of your family, the Fool, you embraced everything that came your way. With a belief in destiny and sheer good luck, you moved forward without a plan and trusted that everything would work out in your favour.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Anything could happen!
Have your grandparents help you get the Top Notch Infant and Top Notch Toddler traits.
As a Child, choose and complete the aspiration that best fits your randomised trait.Â

Character values: Insensitive
Aspiration: Bodybuilder
Max skills: Fitness
Career: Mr./ Ms. Solar System (Athletic - Bodybuilder branch)
Generation 12: The Hanged Man
The idea that your family is born from magic feels like a distant dream. Your parent was so self-absorbed that they never saw the truth. Spellcasters don’t exist, not for generations anyway. Any magical connection to the earth has been long lost. Instead of striving for greatness, can’t you just be normal? A normal life, a normal job. Of course you have aspirations - they’re just not realistic right now.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Maintain a B grade through Grade school and High school.Â

Character values: Responsible
Aspiration: Beach Life (never complete this)Â
Max skills: Writing, LogicÂ
Career: Head of Department (Salaryperson - Supervisor branch)
Generation 13: Death
There has to be more out there than your parent had you believe. You’d read their unpublished novels on your family’s legend and knew it was up to you to seek the answers and return to the magic your ancestors were born from. You left everything behind and travelled alone to the town under a permanent autumn. It was here you found your answers, and your end.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Complete the Artistic Prodigy aspiration as a Child.Â
Don’t go to university- you’ve got better things to do.Â
Move to Ravenwood as a Young Adult.Â
Get involved in the community and complete all the favours for the Order of Lenore.Â
Complete the Ravenwood tarot deck.Â
Write a bucket list and work towards it but don’t complete it.Â
Complete the Ghost Historian aspiration and befriend many ghosts.Â
Never marry or have children.
Be the only sim in your household when you die (you can have pets).Â
Meet an untimely end - die before you become an Elder.
Traits: Macabre, Music Lover, Chased by Death
Character values: Good Manners
Aspiration: Ghost Historian
Max skills: Writing, Thanatology
Career: Publish your history books!Â
Mini Generation: Temperance
That can’t be… it? You were so young, and you were so busy searching for your answers you never did everything you wanted to do. Fourteen generations and it ends here. However, death had taken a special interest in you, and offers you the chance to address your unfinished business before you move on.Â
Generation Rules:Â
Attend your own funeral.
Achieve your unfinished business and complete your Soul’s Journey to earn the Burning Soul trait.Â
Head to Mourningvale on the day of the Thinned Festiveil and be reborn in the Baleful Bog.Â
With the knowledge of 14 generations behind you, you are reborn as The Fool, and the cycle is completed.

note, the san myshuno, willow creek, brindleton bay and strangerville save file are included.
Hi friends! It feels like I haven't put out a Save in ages even though it hasn't been that long. I've always liked the idea of making Windenburg over but was overwhelmed by it, this world is beautiful and has so many things to it (like, many many many lots - big ones!) and such a unique style.
It was challenging for sure but overall incredibly fun and I learned that I actually quite love the Tudors and building them!
There's not a lot of new sims on this save, you'll find three households that I hope you love as much as I do (make sure to read their little stories!) and a very much needed and nice refresh of the previous pre-made sims that we know and learned to love.
This to me is the best save file I've ever made and I truly hope you guys love it as much as I do; with no further ado, here’s how to get it, enjoy! Love you guys.
note: please tag me if you post anything with this save, I'd love to see your thoughts on it! 🥺
To get the save file click me, download the file (please make sure you don’t have a save file with the same name) and drop it into your ‘saves’ folder. You can access this folder inside the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Saves.
thank you @oasissarah and @plumloup for testing it! 💜

In my attempt to create more decent looking randomized sims, I went through the various body & facial presets (as well as eyebrows, beards and skintones) and picked those that, at least in my opinion, look decent on most sims, thus, hopefully, making for more decent looking randomized sims on average. In addition to the presets selection, I adjusted some parameters used for adding variation to the body presets. Kids and toddler presets are not included in this mod, and I also didn’t bother with occult specific presets.
Update as of August 1st 2022: Added the option to exclude body hair.
You can use this mod simultaneously with the mod "No Make-Up & No Accessories On Randomized Sims".
Download and more info below the cut.
Some elements I focussed on:
One thing I was trying to do are stronger and more natural looking facial features. For example, I went for stronger jaws and wider noses, but then also deselected a lot of the eye presets that look somewhat crooked or cartoon-like to me. I also selected the more smooth looking chins, cheeks and foreheads presets.
Eyebrows and beards also make a huge difference, in my opinion. I only left a few neutral options for both. This, by the way, also makes it more likely for a randomized sim not to have a beard. (Per default, the game just picks randomly from all of the beard options, therefore, almost all randomized male sims show up with a beard.)
And yep, the skintones. I think the texture of many skintones looks either patchy or is otherwise poorly made (although I'm not sure if this is partly an issue with certain graphic cards/computers). I actually deselected a bunch of the lighter skintones from the neutral and the cold panel, because they look somewhat unnatural to me with the very grey or even purple undertones. As well as a few others. (As you can’t disallow skintones for randomization like you can with other body presets, I used a workaround by reassigning those skintones as vampire skintones, so they won’t show up randomly on normal sims anymore.)
Besides, a huge frustration factor for me has always been the poor posture on (for the most part) male sims. There are actually only two male body presets with a decent posture. I used them (as well as a third one) but adjusted both to some degree to look more like the average human body. I also only used three of the female body presets and adjusted one of them (the skinny curvy one) to be a bit heavier than the default.
Overall I'm quite happy with the result for female sims and, well, I did my best for the male sims under given circumstances :D At some point I needed to call it a day, so here it is:
SFS | MF
I provide the mod as a zip file (you need to unzip it with a free program like WinRAR or 7-Zip) containing the following parts as package files:
All of those parts also work standalone and in any combination! (The files do not rely on each other.)
Update as of July 23rd 2023:
Update for patch 1.99/Horse Ranch EP to account for new presets as well as a new tag that was introduced for the Native American archetype.
Update as of August 1st 2022:
Added the option to exclude body hair (5.)
Updated the files 1. & 3. with items that were added to the game since the time when I created the mod.
Notes regarding the files:
The files with the deselected eyebrows, beards, body hair and skintones will count as cc and trigger the cc flag. Besides, the deselected eyebrows, beards and body hair will be also excluded for genetic randomization (other presets are not affected based on my testing). So I provide those files separately for easy removal (and in case you only wanna use some parts of the mod).
For more experienced users: You can also unmerge the body presets package file with S4S to receive the sub-files for body, cheeks, chins, eyes, headshape, jaws, mouths and noses as well as the tuning file, if you want to pick only certain parts of the mod here, as well, or adjust the files. (Half of this enterprise was actually looking up the items and organizing them into categories.) Please note, if you mess around with the files in S4S, don't save over the tuning file, it's a certain type of file that needs special handling when saving in S4S (I used a workaround so that the decimals would actually be saved correctly).
Questions, conflicts and TOU:
For clarification: This mod only disallows certain items to be picked when a sim is randomized. All items are still "there" and can be picked manually in CAS.
Known conflicts: The "Body Presets Selection & Tuning" part (specifically the tuning part of it) will conflict with Menaceman44's Auto Shorter Teens mod. In general, same as for the mod "No Make-Up & No Accessories On Randomized Sims", this mod might conflict with other mods aiming at manipulating body preset parameters. Let me know if you encounter any other conflicting mods or issues.
Please, also contact me in case you intend to use the mod or parts of the mod for other creations.
NPC Fashion - is a configuration file for MC Command Center. It won't work without MCCC.

simply drop the file from the archive in MCCC folder and confirm replacement if needed.
