SCM gods as Tarot Cards ✨🦄
That's the post that I accidentally deleted the first time and had to redo from scratch. Oof.
Disclaimer: I only started doing Tarot this September, so if I got any card analysis wrong, I'm really sorry. Take everything with a grain of salt. I'm not a professional by any means nor very experienced.
Some gods got two cards instead of one, because I couldn't pick one only lol
Warning: Spoilers for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE
Leon ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── King of Wands
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ (I wish I could put Strength for him, because the card has a lion on it, but it doesn't exactly fit him as a meaning, so…)
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ King of Wands is a fire card, just like the Leo zodiac sign. It's about being confident, passionate and a charismatic capable leader that people are willing to follow.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Which is exactly how Leon is. He inspires awe amongst the gods in the Heavens and amongst his subordinates.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Even during his Promise Of Infinity, meeting MC's mother, she was amazed by the charming manners he presented her with.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And MC has said many times that she finds him cool when he's working. (And then he proceeded to never work again, but that's another topic for another day.)
Scorpio ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Knight of Swords
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Knight of Swords just like Scorpio is all about charging forward, goal oriented and with a “no nonsense” approach, as well as not beating around the bush.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And blunt. (“Quit pussyfooting around, Dui” — an actual quote from Scorpio.)
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Focused and determined, just as Scorpio sees his career in the Department of Punishments.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But also, the downside of this card (so if it's in reverse), is aggression and impulsiveness. A sense of “I know what I'm doing”, but actually causing a mess, because you THOUGHT you knew.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ So basically Scorpio when he rushed into action during his Main Story and got himself his mark of sin. He thought he was doing it right, but was actually not leading with logic. He was leading with aggression instead.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ I would say that this card in reverse is him at the beginning of his route. Misusing his power and charging with more hate inside him than logic.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And when he understands and is able to process everything better and yield his emotions even in his Punishments, utilizing them to actually save people and not just inflict pain, the card is turned upright.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Oof. The Tower may just be the most feared card of all, because it signifies chaos, disorder and something absolutely fucking crumbling down to its foundations.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And I think that's Scorpio’s earlier life as a human.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Raised in the darkest depths of humanity, forced to kill so he's not killed. Forced to live in chaos and decay and despair and suffering.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And all that crumbling down when the King of the Heavens turned him into a god and he was erased from everyone's memory in the human world.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ A life erased, though he still bears the scars of that life even as a god.
Teorus ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Three of Cups
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Oooo, this extrovert.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Three of Cups is about the environment and the relationship with other people.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Teorus wants to receive love from everyone. To surround himself with people. To party.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And a big part of his Main Story is the question of “what connections are truly meaningful?” But also “you shouldn't just receive, but also offer in return.”
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Because Teorus is specifically hungry for the love his father never gave him and he tries to fill the void by receiving love from everyone.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ I've seen discussions about him possibly being polyamorous too, which is wonderful. And the Three of Cups could really signify that, and also teach him how to be fair and give what he takes from those around him.
Dui ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── The Lovers
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Starting with The Lovers card, I have lots of fun justifications for this one!!!
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ First of all, The Lovers card is connected to the Gemini zodiac sign. It is about two people. And this card actually has two meanings depending on the sort of reading you do.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ It can symbolise romance; so the connection of two people…. Or, it can symbolise two things in general; like the connection your body has with your soul. The connections your heart has with your mind.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ It's about two things and how those things function together. Like Shadow Dui and Sweet Dui. Two halves of a whole.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ At the beginning of his route, the card is in reverse, so Shadow Dui and Sweet Dui don't function very well. Sweet Dui sees Shadow Dui as a second entity in his body. As a violent stranger.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But later, the card is turned upright, when he accepts his other half and feels comfortable connecting and alternating with Shadow Dui.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And the second reason for choosing this card for him, is because Dui is the most lovey dovey god. Loves PDA. Always brags about having the most wonderful girlfriend in the world. Suits him perfectly.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Temperance is another card I'd give him, which is about balance and peace.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ So once again: what I said about Shadow Dui and Sweet Dui coexisting.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But also, Dui is always the one jumping in to break up arguments between Leon and Scorpio, trying to keep the peace.
Huedhaut ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Five of Cups
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Five of Cups symbolises loss, regrets, grief……. Does it…. Remind you of someone?
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Huedhaut is weighted down by the past, by his lost true love, and that makes him feel like there is no future left to hope for.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The card itself (now there are many versions of decks available, but I'm speaking about the most classic one) depicts a man dressed in black and sobbing over three toppled cups. But what he doesn't notice is that right behind him, two cups are still upright. But he thinks there's nothing left, because all he can put his energy and time in are the toppled ones, completely missing the other two.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ That's Huedhaut. There's still happiness that can be reclaimed. Light after the darkness. But he's so consumed by what's already gone and completely misses what is to come.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ In a sense, the three fallen cups are Clotho and the two standing are MC. And yet he is destroying himself by the grief and the guilt that the goddess herself would have wanted him to not be suffering from.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ So when this card flips, is when he begins to heal and notice those two upright cups.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Knight of Cups is a card that also reminds me of Hue, because it symbolises someone who leads with mature emotions.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Not someone naive or oversensitive, but instead someone who has a healthy and collected hold over their emotions. It is about maturity. Hue.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Whenever I give an irl friend of mine readings and this card falls out, I love to tell her to think of Hue.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Huedhaut loves passionately, warmly, slowly, peacefully. He's a mature sort of love. (Take a shot every time I say the word “mature”.)
Ichthys ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── The Fool
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Fool. Upright, it symbolises new beginnings, potential and excitement for the unknown and its countless possibilities. Reversed, it is about recklessness, foolish risks, impulsiveness and lack of a vision or a plan.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Ichthys' story starts with the card reversed. The only thing he cares about is having fun until he inevitably dies. He doesn't plan to fight back against fate, thinking it's pointless. And he uses his healing powers with no consideration of how they drain his remaining life force. In his mind, he's here for a good time, not for a long time.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But after his Main Story, he approaches life with the card upright. He wants a life with MC and the people he loves. He wants to fight back against fate and live. And his happiness is substantial this time. He genuinely feels hope and excitements for the future and isn't afraid to look his troubles in the eye.
Karno ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── The Empress
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Empress, upright, symbolises the role of the caretaker, the one who nurtures.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Hence Karno’s affinity for caring for his subordinates, often referred to as “the mom” of the group by the fandom. Even in his Wishes work, he grants them out of deep love and a desire to see everyone happy and content. And even when MC was small, he says that he watched over her like a father would (if I remember correctly), which I'm pointing out, because The Empress card can at times symbolise the mother or the woman. (Though, again, keep in mind that this isn't always literal and can be symbolic. Let's not repackage gender roles.)
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But, now, if we look at the card reversed, it talks about smothering and burning oneself out in order to appease everyone.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Which is Karno constantly running after Leon to do his work. Karno hating himself and feeling useless when he cannot grant a wish (ex: keep someone alive, because that's forbidden from the laws of the Heaven's). Karno hating himself for making MC fall sick from sadness in her childhood.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ He blames himself for everything, thinking that his sole purpose was to care for people and make them happy, but he failed at that one singular thing.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Now, I also picked this card because the moon rules over the Cancer zodiac sign.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But also, this card upright talks about a state of delusions. Of a wrong perspective. Of anxiety.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Which is how Karno feels, thinking he's a weak excuse of a god. And because he keeps his connection to MC's childhood a secret from her until he just has to speak.
Zyglavis ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Justice
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ ……… So tempted to just leave it there…… Because it's so self explanatory……..
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Justice card is very obviously about karma and accountability and fairness. So… Justice!
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Zyglavis is all about retaining justice in the world. He has referred to himself once as the “hand of justice”.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And he also holds over his own head a big weight of accountability, believing himself to be the cause of the Dark King’s creation and humanity’s downfall.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Therefore he feels tremendous amounts of guilt and thus has dedicated his life to keeping the justice on Heavens and Earth. So there wasn't a better card for him, really.
Aigonorus ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Four of Cups
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Lol. Both of his are Four’s.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Four of Cups. Can symbolise apathy, but also a state of such deep skepticism that you actually miss chances and opportunities. (Not to be confused with The Hermit, which is about reflection and alone time. That can be positive. Four of Cups is usually a rut. In MY interpretations!! Take this one with a bunch of salt!!!)
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Aigonorus chooses sleep to avoid reality and its problems. He is skeptical about people's intentions and he has given up on love, too hurt by it the first time.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ He chooses to ignore the things the gods get up to, preferring sleep, even though he does have a very curious side to him, which is unleashed with MC.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Four of Swords. Recovery, down time. Recuperation after burnout.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Aigonorus' heart was left bruised after Phione’s terrible treatment of him. So he's not ready to love and be loved again, thinking it will only result in more hurt.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ He chooses to sleep away the hurt and the stress of life.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But that recovery time comes to its end when he feels ready again to face the issues and love and be curious.
Krioff ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Three of Pentacles
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Now, for this one I may be going a bit off base, but truly that's how I always interpret this card in my readings.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Three of Pentacles is about a sort of ambition and craving an environment you connect to. But it's not as much the sensitive and emotional fulfillment that you may get with the Suits of Cups, but more of a… I've made a name for myself, so now people admire me. But a healthy dose of admiration. A well deserved one.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And I get this vibe from Krioff, especially during his story “The gods fantasies: sweet”. There, he displays a big sense of dismay towards the fact that he is given the babysitter role, when he actually wants to do the big, respectable stuff. He wants to broaden his career, but it's done in a healthy way.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Also, with him being a late bloomer and all, he wants to prove himself much more.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And it is also shown in his Main Story, where the little orphan god came to bring him a flower as thank you for helping him.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Though at that point, I think the card was much more reversed. Everyone was more scared of him and didn't really admire him.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Chariot is about being goal oriented and rising above the challenges.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Krioff's whole character basically, surviving in that terrible house and working hard in his career for his own self.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And also, that determination can be seen in his Main Story and how he approaches his job as MC’s bodyguard with such sternness (a bit too overbearing at times, like when he wasn't letting her set foot out of his room, not even for fresh air).
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And I also think it fits him during his Promise Of Infinity, where he is being open and honest with his intentions with the MC.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And tbh, he had already started cooking up solutions for the problems of that story from his Sequel!! So here comes the forward expression with the goal set in stone.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Krioff is actually pretty honest as a character. He says exactly what he's thinking.
Tauxolouve ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── Death
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Did not see that one coming, did ya?
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ I have him the Death card, because that's literally the theme of his Main Story.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Now, the Death card doesn't talk about literal death, but a metaphorical one. It speaks about something that is ending in order for something else to begin.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But there are people who aren't familiar with Tarot, who might see the Death card and go “OMG?!?!? I'M GOING TO DIE??!” “No—” “WHO'S GOING TO DIE?!” “NO ONE!! IT'S SYMBOLIC!!”
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Tauxolouve spent his whole life awaiting his death; never making connections with the people around him, abandoning his hobbies, all for the sake of not having to say goodbye to any of it during his end.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ But turns out, that the “death” he was expecting, was actually the death of the darkness inside him.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And after that, he could start again, on new fresh soil and bloom.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The rest of his route would be symbolised by this card. Rebirth, revitalization, hope.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Rekindling his passions is what Tauxolouve is doing.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Reconnecting with his parents and his friends and getting back into art and creating, and dreaming.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And he is also exploring this newfound human part of him and connecting with it and loving it.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ The Star is Tauxolouve rediscovering himself again, after the Death card has ran its course
Partheno ── ⋆⋅𖤓⋅⋆ ──── The Devil
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ ……………………………………………………….. :)
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Envy and rage in a nice little pair of chains and shuckles clutching him tight.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ His story begins with the card upright, shuckling him to his hatred and his thirst for revenge, driving him to betray and manipulate and commit all sorts of crimes.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ And his story ends with the card reversed, where he frees himself of those chains and he is determined to change.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ In fact, I'd say his entire route is him slipping from out of the hand of The Devil card.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ Seven of Swords is about the hidden agendas, the deceit and the lies.
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ So whatever Partheno was doing, girlbossing too close to the sun all this time — even stealing another person's identity and going by it!!!
જ⁀➴⋆.˚ This card is him being cunning and clever, but in a dishonest manner, in the shadows.
