“Long ago and not so far away. Alan Rickman with Lindsay Duncan.”
“The past few days has shaken me up. Alan Rickman was a friend. An old soul-soul mate, a teacher, a wizard, a champion. He kicked my ass. He stretched me and everyone around him. He saw things nobody else saw. He was an inspiration and amazingly generous. To me and to everyone he knew. I adored him. His death hit me hard, and letting go sometimes feels impossible. But it’s the celebration of Alan that I arrive at iwe are meditating together on this challenge path.
Goodbye to my dear friend and may we all follow his grace and audacity, and commit to his kind of compassion, imagination, and daring in our work and in our lives.” — Risa Bramon Garcia via Facebook, 2016

Serenity Found
Colonel Brandon/OC one-shot; No content warnings!
The inspiration behind this and the title is Serenity Found by Lindsey Stirling. I will post the link to it below!
The first thing he noticed upon his return to Delaford was the music that came from further in the manor.
Christopher had handed off his coat, gloves, and hat to his butler as he began to make his way to the music room, the familiar notes of a violin gently caressing his ears and drawing him closer and closer. He hadn't been expecting any other guests, and none of his staff were knowledgeable in the art of music. It left him with only one possibility, and he, much to his dismay, never asked if his strange guest of a mere month had any talents to speak of. That brief flash of shame he felt fell away as he peered into the music room and found his breath taken away and his heart beating quicker than he had ever imagined it could.
Twirling and dancing as she performed a serene melody from the violin in her hands, was Miss Odette. And she was completely unaware of his presence as she was lost in the piece she coaxed from the strings.
He was unfamiliar with the piece itself, but as he listened and watched her, strands of her dark waves falling out of the hairstyle she had chosen for the day, the Colonel felt an inner peace as it began to warm him. It reminded him of the warmth of a sunrise as it peaked over the hills and trees surrounding his home, a warmth that was beget by her gentle smile and the kindness of her blue eyes. It filled him with a hope he had begun to lose in the wake of Miss Marianne's continuous and obvious preference towards Mr. Willoughby.
He couldn't rightly say that he was all that familiar with her dancing itself either, but he observed some manner of influence from ballet. Regardless of how strange it seemed to him, it suited her and the piece she was performing beautifully. Her graceful steps aided in conveying the emotions the melody was trying to evoke. The longer Christopher watched her, the more entranced he became. The longer he listened, the quicker a deep thought within him awakened.
Perhaps, his affections had been misplaced to begin with. Perhaps they did not lie with Miss Marianne Dashwood…but with Miss Odette instead.
Just like a seed, once the thought was planted, it began to grow. The Colonel looked back on the many moments that they had shared throughout their acquaintence. Conversation had flowed naturally between them, and there was never a moment of awkwardness between them, certainly nothing like what he had sensed between himself and Miss Marianne. He felt at ease with his unusual guest. He never had to worry about society's expectations of him nor did she ever pry into his affairs. Miss Odette always allowed room for him to share what he wished, to let him breathe. She was always so patient with him, just as he was with her when it was difficult for her to discuss anything regarding her family or where she had come from. From the beginning, they shared an easy companionship.
Christopher had grow quite fond of her, and he was at least sure that she considered him a friend.
He continued to watch Miss Odette as her song was reaching a crescendo. A part of him wanted to join her. That part wanted nothing more than to throw decorum by the wayside and guide her through her dance, hands on her hips as she made a leap or twirled. He wanted to bring her as close to him as the violin would allow them as he led her up from bending backwards in a short dip. He wanted nothing more than to stare deep into her eyes, that swirling azure ocean of her deepest thoughts and feelings, and keep her close. To trace the freckles along her cheeks and nose, and feel just how soft her skin was. But a louder part of him demanded he be a proper gentleman, so he remained at the doorway, transfixed on her beauty. His heart fluttered as her dancing ended and the song's final note dragged out by the measures the moment had guided it until all was silent once more. Only then, did he feel that he could breathe again.
Yes, without a doubt, Christopher Brandon had grown quite fond of her indeed, and could only hope that his affections were returned.

The devil may work hard but Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) works infinitely harder.
Because are you fucking kidding me.
