Autumn is never easy for me.
I find the colours disgusting. The sky is aways grey and everything else either looks like itβs dead or on fire. It starts to get cold which means i have to wear layers which causes problems with my sensory issues. Itβs halloween, which is a holiday i apologetically despise, along with bonfire night which just means people setting off fireworks for days before and afterwards despite the fact bonfire night is for one day only!
I wish i didnβt have to feel like the world is absolutely miserable whenever i step outside for the few foreseeable months. I wish it was light outside. I miss having nice weather and riding my bike and not feeling like i need to be distracted every second of the day to not feel dissociated and totally unhappy.
Sometimes i like to lean into this feeling of helpless misery by listening to music that would otherwise make me feel a bit bored but makes me feel downright upset in autumn just because of the fact that itβs actually autumn.
Itβs so difficult to stay even a smidge motivated when looking at the sky makes you want to throw up.
Magpie Mural Spotted!
Location: Shrewsbury (Shropshire, England) !
Artist: Presumably Matt Sewell (from my research), who is well-known by the locals for his British bird murals. If not, probably a copycat.
If you find anything like this, send me a dm, I'll be sure to post it soon!
Of all Parrots (and other birds if you would like), what are your favourite species'? (And if you can, your favourite country they are found in? For example my favourite of the Parrot genus are Lovebirds, found commonly in Madagascar!!!
Thank you for your time in advance!!
Teehee (kicking my feet)
I really like military macaws which can be found in Mexico because theyβre large and in charge and the pirate and naturalist William Dampier may have seen them in the Bay of Campeche.
Out of every bird however, boat-tailed grackles are my favourite π«π«! There are a ton of grackles in the green space near my house and they are so silly. Iβm the springtime they splash around on the flooded fields and are just so jolly and goofy. They have the highest iq of any blackbird and 1/4 of their diet is invertebrates (like crabs!!!).
@whywoulditho tagged me in this little guy picrew (thankiess!) I tag @linanord @cryptidm0ths @spixi @mayoiayasep and anyone else who wants to do it. As always no pressure<3

here are some photos of magpies being loved.
love shown by self care, from a magpie who decided to treat itself with a rather large nut (not at its expense, but just a small snack to reward itself)
love shown by presence and patience, from its friend (a human, who took their time to appreciate this magpie)
love shown by playfulness and curiosity, from another magpie, who it likely met by chance.
please remember that you are loved, and the only way to truly feel loved is to let yourself be loved by others and yourself.
essentially - you should always love yourself, even if you feel that others do not. there will always be someone who loves you.
hi tumblr. heres a racing pigeon that decided to visit me last week. hes very silly. i named him greg for my friend. yeah. i love greg.
sorry this isnt a magpie/corvid...
A Magpie and their cautious leucistic partner in the snow!! I think they're very cute!!
A Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus, or Linnaeus) and a Common Eurasian Magpie (Pica Pica) stood in the snow.
Bald Eagles and Magpies, or any other birds, generally have a very hostile relationship. But, in some rare cases, a Bald Eagle may be calm enough to share a space with them after hunting prey. Bald Eagles are opportunistic hunters, and therefore may not feel the need to attack other animals if it is not necessary; as it wastes energy.
* Magpies are not significant to Bald Eagles naturally, they just tend to be more attentive and come off as less of a threat due to their higher emotional intelligence and understanding of body language.
This is the Iberian Magpie (Cyanopica cooki)*, also duped as the Azure-blue winged Magpie. it is only really found nesting in central Spain or northern Portugal (in Europe). but also can be found in many areas of east and central Asia, such as Korea.
* The asian variant of the Azure winged magpie has a different scientific name, 'Cyanopica cyanus'
* In Portugal, the bird can also be called 'Pega-Azul', but was corrected to 'Charneco',
You cannot tell from a distance, or even up close if this Magpie is male or female, and would require a specialist.
This species, much like other Magpie species, is not able to be mistaken due to its uncommon feather coloring and patterns.

This is an Australian Magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen) hanging upside-down from a branch, did you know that many birds- especially members of the corvid family- like to position themselves upside down?
When a bird hangs upside down, its a show of many emotions, but entirely positive. When they do so, they likely feel playful and energetic, or curious about something nearby!

Here is a common eurasian magpie with Ieucism! Ieucism is a less severe form of albinism, which means this magpie has partial loss of all pigmentation. This magpie should really be black, blue, and white - but instead due to this phenomena it is brown and white! Only ONE in SIX MILLION (0.000016~%) eurasian magpies have this condition, so this was a very rare photo!
