“a bit strange, i suppose,” he admitted. newt wasn’t equipped to deal with this situation, but he would certainly try his best. it was just difficult being around so many people that couldn’t quite understand the full situation. “no?? it doesn’t seem like many people here have.”

“Afraid not, which is alarming. All anyone knows is, we’re all pulled here from our own time and place with no way to go home. Honestly, it’s scary.” He replied, then again, it had most likely been much more frightening for the man in question.
“that does appear to be a tad odd, especially if no one has a clue as to the reasoning behind it. i’m certain something has to come up at some point. nothing can keep us here forever.” at least, newt hoped so. he needed to get back to his time.

“you’re not from this time period, then?? when are you from, exactly??” he supposed it wasn’t so odd for someone to be from the future, considering the time he was from. “they are very lovely creatures, yes. quite useful as well given they’re very good at picking locks. this little fella has saved my life before. i do, yes. quite a few, actually. i rescue a great many of them. they’re all in my suitcase back at my apartment currently. a pleasure, ana. my name is newt scamander.”

THE OTHER GUY REALLY WAS FROM A LONG TIME AGO, though mike figured it could’ve been even longer. thought that still didn’t really explain where the guy was from, from. he said new york, but he had a creature he’d never seen with him. “yeah, almost a hundred years ahead,” he said, glancing to the creature again. “new york?” maybe they existed and he never really had seen them around before. “what are they, exactly?”
certainly odd, but it was hardly too far out of the norm for newt. magic was a part of his every day life, he could only assume that was what had brought him here to this place, and to this time period. it’s the only thing that could make any sense. “well, i was traveling home from new york. i was merely visiting the states.” newt glanced down at pickett. “this would be one of my bowtruckles. pickett. he’s a tad clingy, so more often than not he’s on me.”

“the -- second world war??” there was another one?? no, that had to be some sort of mistake. there had already been a war to end all wars. “i’m afraid there doesn’t appear to be a way back home. not just yet, that is. i’m sure something will come up.”

The year that he offers has Ava blinking rapidly in confusion, whatever idea of tricking this man falls short in turn. “I…seriously?” He’s certainly dressed for that time period, it would make sense but being probable? She does'nt know. “Hate to break it to you then, but…we don’t have time machines – I don’t think you’ll be getting home any time soon.”
he offers up an awkward smile in response to the question. it was a new situation for him as well, and given he already wasn’t good with people, this didn’t really help matters much. “ah, yes. i had assumed there was nothing to return me back to my old time, considering it doesn’t appear anyone can leave. does anyone have any knowledge as to why we’re here??”
