Albus was most likely not alright. Everything he understood from armchair psychology said that much. The look on his âtrainerâsâ face had said more when heâd explained his absence and sparse communication. Like he was something that needed reevaluating. And fuck if he didnât already hate that feeling from his own home. So the Hogwarts reunion was every ounce what he needed.
Something lacking substance and meaning in his life that he could jump into completely. And look ravishing while doing it. A needed distraction. And an excuse to be with one of his closest friends again.
When heâd stepped his way out of green flames in a whirl of smoke and fabric, heâd almost feared heâd be alone. But there he was, Scorpius Malfoy in all his glory. Albus grinned as he clacked across the stonework, reaching his friend and offering him a little wink. Â
âGlad to meet with your approval, Scor,â he all but purred, eyes bright and just this side of dangerous.  âSo rarely given, so much more worth the earning.â He grinned again and offered his arm.  âYou look ravishing as well. The cut of that suit?â He gave a low hum of approval.  âShall we show them just what theyâre missing without us do you think?â
âOh this?â He looked down at the dress suit he had found in a Muggle shop. It was nothing compared to Albusâs attire, but he couldnât help but blush at the compliment from his old friend. âItâs nothing special really.â He kept his head down for a second to hide the grin that was forming on his lips, running his hand through his hair. He was sure he would replay that conversation in his head all night, and every time he did he would smile exactly the way he was now.Â
Scorpius almost felt as though he wasnât worthy of walking with Albus, especially the way he looked tonight, but at that moment nothing could please him more. With a slight hesitation, but then a small but firm nod of the head, Scorpius took his arm and held his head high. âYouâre right, it would be rude not to grace them with our presence.âÂ
He took a breath as they started walking towards the carriages pulled by invisible thestrals, adrenaline forming in his stomach. What would people think if he walked in on Albusâs arm? He was currently the talk of the wizarding world, everyone would be waiting to see if heâd actually turn up or not. One thingâs for sure, he was certain no one would expect to see a Malfoy on the arm of Harry Potterâs son. But thatâs what Scorp loved so much about Albus - he didnât care about his name. He was his friend, regardless.Â
âAre you sure about tonight Al?â He asked as they mounted the carriage. Scorpius still had his reservations, but he would be there by Albusâs side either way.Â
