Dodo Hunters’ Fourth & Final Clear of Heaven-on-High

Heaven-on-High tried to keep us from it by throwing an absolutely absurd amount of mimics at us, AoE’s hitting people they shouldn’t have, and a lag moment for Honhon….

… but we did it!

Four clears. Four accessories. Four horses. Four achievements.

It’s a great feeling, having managed this and doing what we’ve done. Still, as I’ve mentioned before, there’s a bit of a bittersweet feeling to it as well. To know that we’re done, the challenge overcome. And that I’m going to miss us getting together to race each other towards the Otter traps, gleefully rushing around murdering things to relieve the panic after an emergency petrification pomander use, and all the other fun times that were had along with everything else that this goal of ours brought with it.

So I, and hopefully everyone else, will be looking forward to whatever the PotD/HoH-equivalent will be on the First. I’m thinking either some Ronkan ruin or perhaps a dreamscape wrought by Bismarck. But whatever it is, perhaps the Dodo Hunters will gather together once again to take it on in…

Dodo Hunters 2: Railing Against the System

After months of hard work (sometimes with breaks due to irl needs and Shadowbringers), the Dodo Hunters have achieved their 4th clear of Heaven on High! Now we all have majestic Juedi mounts, cool titles, and the relief that we never have to see another floor of that place unless we’re leveling a class. 

aaaAAAAAAAA I NEVER HAVE TO SEE HOH AGAIN.

26. Your character in your most favorite 4.x dungeon

For all the panicked emergency pom-throwing, luring traps, obnoxiously-placed mimics, and cowering in corners from patrols that has happened there, I have to say my favorite dungeon in 4.X still has to be Heaven-on-High. Partly due to the layouts actually being very pretty when you get to look at them, partly due to the otter traps and that one amazing moment where I soloed the Cerberus-copy boss as Warrior, but mostly due to the people I’ve run it with: the Dodo Hunters.

I joined them basically by chance because they needed a fourth and it has just been… fun. Overcoming these challenges, collecting the dodos that spawned our group name, and just hanging out and chatting and being general goofballs while we do it. And even though we weren’t able to get four clears done before Shadowbringers, we hit three and we’re still planning to reconvene post ShB-release to get that final clear (possibly with a Dancer!).

And, if I’m being honest, I’ll probably miss it a whole bunch once we get that fourth clear. And hope that maybe we’ll group up again in whatever PotD/HoH-analogue they introduce in 5.X.
