something i feel a lot of arguments about the oppression of trans men tend to miss when comparing us to men of other marginalisations is that the basis for our marginalisation is, in fact, our gender. trans men and transmascs are oppressed because of our gender identity, because we are transgender. the matter of trans male privilege is more complicated than comparing us to, to cite examples i see used commonly, cisgender disabled or racialised men, because the oppression they face is due to factors other than their gender identity. statements like 'arguing trans men don't have male privilege is the same as saying disabled men don't have male privilege' isn't true because of this - disabled men aren't oppression because of their gender and their maleness, while trans men are. (this is not to say that masculinity doesn't affect how ableism against disabled men takes form, just that it isn't the primary reason for marginalisation.)

this stuff might seem obvious. it probably is obvious, to the average person. i think a lot of discourse surrounding arguments that trans men aren't oppressed or that we massively benefit from male privilege comes down to people who spend a lot of their time in online overwhelmingly trans-friendly spaces where pronouns are consistently respected. i think people sometimes forget that in a transphobic society, trans men are not seen as men but as failed, broken women. someone who spends all their time in trans-supportive spaces where all trans people are consistently viewed as their gender might forget this on occasion. because i see trans men as men, the whole world must see them as men, and so on.

Apparently, predator-jacketing is fine now when done to trans men. Sorry, "trans boys". Straight up writing fanfic at this point.

Anyway I'm posting this to point out how fucking cult-like this behaviour is. The trans woman this was in response to committed the crime of speaking out against transandrophobia and for unity and mutual support within the community, and in return she's getting a full heaping of "the only safe people are us, these monsters will hurt you and everybody you love, but we told you so".

This post is talking about situations and events that have occurred in 18+ spaces. I am an adult addressing other adults in the room.

nothing sickens me more being in kink and other adult spaces than how transmascs are treated, especially if we're not hypermasc my GOD. Usually I can just cope with it cus some bad eggs are the cost of community sometimes I guess, but it's playing on my mind lately.

Scrolling through tumblr kink posts and noticing detrans posts and ones where a transmasc refers to having his genitals/chest touched, especially with derogatory or exposing terms, consistently get more engagement. Getting heinous DMs from cis men who don't even try to disguise that they don't respect me or my gender. Going to real life kink spaces and being talked about in terms that objectify me and automatically put me in a category during platonic conversations with people I barely know - and having my boundaries ignored or not asked/assumed because of the box I've been put in. Always getting the most attention when I'm being submissive, playing fem, presenting myself the way I know they want me which is the least like myself I could be.

TLDR, no being strong enough to grab me doesn't mean you can do so and kiss me, I am not a 'throwable twink' for you to talk about over my head, I am not going to get my tits out for you, I'm not a new experience for you to try. So fucking sick of how obvious it is that I'm not respected in these spaces that are supposedly safe for those who have been othered.

i’m getting pissed because I keep seeing people saying “all those transandrobros are supporting the original transmascvoicesproject! They love it unconditionally! It’s a psyop to make people hate transfems!” and like…

can you point me to any “transandrobro” who isn’t calling that blog out as a troll and a psyop? anyone who isn’t calling it transmisogynistic? literally none of us are supporting it. and if it’s a psyop it’s obviously one meant to make transmascs look bad by being like “look, these tboys made a whole blog all about how much they hate transfems!”

I don't think I have seen a single actual blog that is in support of him. All the comments on all of her posts are negative and the only positive feedback he receives is anonymous.

if a trans man needs to hide the fact that he's trans in order to access any form of male privilege, i simply do not believe that is real privilege. i will, and never will, accept that the closet is a privilege. any queer person can go into the closet to access "privilege," and it's dumb when you all try to argue that bs too. are you not tired of making the exact same arguments about recycled queer groups every 5-10 years? nothing is ever new except the New Queer Enemy really IS privileged and evil this time, we promise!
