The poems that you wrote about me
Are they still there?
Posted on a page that I no longer visit
Afraid that Iâll find something that I missed
Something that could soothe the ache I feel when you come to mind
Donât worry
The ache never left
I became fond of it and used it to reminisce about those times
Donât worry
Iâve moved so far forward that Iâm in love again
Real love
Again
Donât worry
I never blamed you for leaving
The you that loved smoking cigarettes and swigging bottles till you couldnât stand
The you that fought with me to believe that I was beautiful and then wrote that I was âsometimesâ beautiful
The you that caved when I cried and you said âletâs break upâ
The you that wrote an apology poem two years later
Donât worry
I forgave you before you uttered words of apology
Donât worry
I still love The Strokes
You still have a place here
Nestled into one of the smallest corners of my heart
You no longer have a place by my side
Donât worry
If everyone else in the world forgets about you
Those green eyes and air guitar skills will always live in my memories
In my mind
This is the first thing Iâve written about you in a long time
Iâm glad I have the courage to do so
