Unable to extend his stay

Everyday we're traveling somewhere.

Who can tell us where we're going

or if we'll return

to where we were

or where we're from.

Will we climb trees

to build a house?

Or cross the seas

to carve a home?

Look ahead

there's a bridge.

goes.

If silence is my prison,

  then lock me {up}.

I need the time

  to learn to breathe through the suffocating quiet of my mind.

  But I won't mind.

  Just give me [some]

time.

crick in my neck,

rubbed side to side, 

lone poster on the wall

threatens to fall onto the mess

of the desk.

awake for hours with

an itinerary planned.

ink stained on my hand

compels me

to get up, make up

a smoothie or shake.

can't concentrate

on the tasks at hand.

Eye lashes slick

as they stick 

to the thick

under the lids.

Rub one side

get yourself ready

sun shines bright

head feels heavy.

Trudge along

no grudge belongs

as you start with a song

another new beginning.
