Suffering is due to wrong action. We like to hope that we can do as we please and that all will come out well. This is possible only in a person so enlightened, that what he pleases to do is the greatest good for himself and everyone else. Until this is the basis of his pleasure, pleasure will alternate with displeasure down through time.

I think when you go to the edges, physically that would mean deserts, jungles, remote and wild nature; and when you go to the edges in your own mind meaning meditation, dreams, psychedelics, then you discover there is an extremely rich flora and fauna in the imagination that has simply been ignored because our tendency has always been to look inward, to build inward and to turn our backs on the raging ocean of phenomena around us that entirely overwhelms our metaphors.

Its all going to happen, the good and the bad. All we can do is practice where we put our focus and cultivate a helpful perspective.
