hi i love your art and was wondering if you have any tips? your improvement is really inspiring :) also what brush do you use for coloring in your most recent piece?
hi thank you very much! hopefully you're still around, ik i delayed a bit getting to this. i believe that drawing was made in MS paint (win 7/8 or 10 version i think), so it is one of the brushes that is default to that program.
i hope you will make art, if you feel inspired to do so!
i doodle a lot, i think it helps to warm me up. i will go a long time without making a 'serious' art and just doodle & doodle whatever i feel like. usually the same things over and over. i like to have a sketchbook, but also end up doodling on almost anything. sometimes constraint is very fun for trying new things, for me. (and you can always put scraps into your sketchbook/notebook/art vessel later)
for trying new things... of course it can help to learn fundamentals, but also just jumping in and learning what feels fun and good (or not) can be it's own learning. eventually there are things you know to do intuitively/instinctively, and i think that's where the skills of drawing and making stuff actually lie in.
learning to look for things around you that inspire you is also a skill that goes a long way i think.
i have sometimes held myself back from trying new things because i didn't think my "skill level" was enough to pull me through, but i don't think like that anymore because i'd rather be doing new stuff, or whatever's interesting to me, regardless of how it turns out. i mean, i am proud when i like something, and i try not to put too much pressure on the end result. u can maybe(?) see from my art that i don't erase very much, which is part of that. now i just kind of build on top of my drawing until it feels done, rather than trying to make it all fit perfectly on the first go. thats what works for me, though.
maybe as a result of using ms paint, i hardly ever use layers. and i would encourage that, (layers are good for some things of course) because i think it has made art more fun for me - more free-flowing?
mostly i try to do things in a way that feels fun - or whatever i think that means. sometimes a little discipline /seriousness is good if you're very passionate about learning something, however i think that just comes down to practice, such as any skill. the more i draw, the more i have drawn....lol
i don't have access to ms paint right now, but there are many similar programs that are also cool to use :3 i hope any of that was encouraging; i wish you well.
