That one line about remembering things reminds me a LOT of rumination.
Thinking abt something like a memory over and over until it's incomprehensible except for the fear and what one believes to be the gist of what they were thinking of...
It's. A lot like ruminating.

When Clark said that line about remembering over and over again, it really is like rumination.
AND- dare I say the haunted distortion of everything, how the backrooms are memories just remembered a little wrong is very much like ocd. Clark lived in memories that weren’t true, they were recycled like copies of copies and that’s just like rumination, and his inability to change really solidifies that.
Clark was also so obsessed with the backrooms when he found them, mapping them, spending all his free time in them, he was aware of how crazy it all sounded and yet he couldn’t help but go deeper, getting to the point where he dragged Kat and Bobby into his obsession and ultimately getting them killed. This is such an ocd thing, being aware of your own dissent into a false reality while also being unwilling to stray from the delusion. You know it’s crazy, but, what if…
