OKAY FIRST OFF, JULIENS REAL NAME IS JUST JULIEN, AS HE WAS ORIGINALLY NAMED AFTER MOMMY DEAREST BUT HES HASHTAG TRANSGENDER IN MY EYES SO TO JUST SKIP THE "change ur name to julien/julienne when you get crowned/married" HE ALREADY CHOSE IT AS HIS NAME

SPEAKING OF MOMMY DEAREST, HER ORIGINAL NAME WAS JAAN, WHICH MEANS LOVE (bc I love her plus its a pretty name for a pretty lady), BUT WHEN SHE GOT MARRIED, IN ORDER TO FOLLOW TRADITION SHE CHANGED THE NAME TO JULIENNE (think like when the pope has to choose a name when he gets selected and they set off the vape machine)

ALSO BARTY'S REAL NAME IS BHARAT, WHICH MEANS TO BEAR/CARRY, TBH IT DOESNT REALLY HOLD MUCH SIGNIFIGANCE TO THE LORE OR WHATEVS, IT JUST SOUNDED ALIKE. UKJS REAL NAME IS JHAKTAR BC IT MEANS DELIVERER OF WORLDS AND YKNOW HE WAS A KING AND HE MADE HIS OWN KINGDOM AGAIN AFTER LOSING THE CROWN SO IT FITSSS, Like all julien royalty have unique names but when they get crowned/married they change the name to julien/julienne again just to make sure u guys are grasping the concept

ROBS REAL NAME IS RAVISHA WHICH MEANS GOD(DESS) OF THE SUN BC OF HIS FUR AND HOW MUCH HE WANTS TO SHINE, Though while Ravisha is still his legal name, everyone started calling him Rob as a nickname so everyone just calls him Rob now except the ogs like Julien and Maurice on occasions...

TIMOS REAL NAME IS TEJAS WHICH MEANS BRILLIANCE, because well he's a nerd, Timo is his second name which he often went by as people never pronounced his name right but he was too shy to correct them so he just started telling people to call him by his second name even to the point he wont introduce himself with his first name anymore... sigh Timo just sigh...

AND THEN LASTLY (KINDA) BURTS REAL NAME IS BHUVAN WHICH MEANS EARTH/WORLD WHICH REFERS TO HOW GROUNDED HE IS YKNOW... Hes such an industry plant in my posts no one gaf about him but I THINK HES CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically since he does live in NYC, the hc is kinda that before he moved from India to NYC for his hashtag art career bc he IS an artist and hes DOING FANTASTIC!!! But basically his family told him to get an American-ish first name ATLEAST bc they were worried he wouldn't get accepted as often in like work setting due to having both a desi first and last name so while he refused to change his last name he did change the first name... though he still tends to say people can call him both Bhuvan and Burt and that they can choose, he also signs his work as Bhuvan but if u ever see him in a art gallery his little name card will say Burt... Maybe he'll change it back to Bhuvan legally and make Burt his second name as a just-in-caser with Mamdani in charge!! yay!! yay for the desi's!!

+bonus hc that Maurice's birth name was Maria which is why he sang ave maria in Daddy Julien bc thats what his parents (rip the foosa got both sets) sang to him when he was younger, and when he started transitioning (hashtag t4tjaurice) he first chose Mark as his name, but later changed it to Maurice which explains why Juliens parents dont know Maurice's name and call him Mark so confidently, BC THEY WERE JUST GONE FOR THAT LONG!!! Julien found maurice near the edge of the river nile, maurice ws in a basket, squirming and letitng out choked, weak cries like he was crying for hours. The sight of him made julien cry as well, which got the attention of his very panicked parents. Princess julienne took julien into her arms, and prince barty saw the weak baby in the basket, whispering prayers as he looks to the tohwr side of the river.

Julien only calmed down when he saw his dad hold maurice in the basket, reaching out for him, trying to wipe his tears. (He was patting his face.) At 1st, the prince & princess werent very convinced w the idea 2 raise a baby who their son found, but when they saw how much julien loved maurice they decided to give maurice to uncle kj, who always had this thought of raising a boy, but not a son. Everybody was confused by what he meant, but they just gave maurice to his care.

Maurice was raised in luxury like julien, and they were inseperable, prince barty taught maurice how to play the oud, while julien watched and clapped at every little thing maurice gets right, which caused maurice's motivation to keep learning. Uncle kj taught maurice how to play and use the tabla after julien's parents moved to sahel, which started maurice's crush on julien.

Everytime maurice would show him a piece that uncle kj taught him, julien would show what he learnt aswell in bellydancing lessons from rob. Maurice would get flustered and look away so he doesn't mess up the piece, but julien always wanted him to look, so he would get closer and closer, making maurice look at him. This would always happen, and maurice would get more embarrassed than the last time.

Whenever there were parties, youd always find maurice & julien in their own world, maurice with the tabla and julien wearing the clothes that were original pieces made by rob. (In this au rob is a clothing designer for dancers!)

theyd have nights where maurice wojld play the oud for julien bcz julien assosciates the instrument w his dad, who moved away to sahel so he can continue his career as an artist w his mom. These nights would always end with julien cuddling closer to maurice, whos face would flush red as he carefully strums the oud to hum the vocals of the songs he learnt.
