As seconds and soon even minutes passed by, his head almost started spinning, being reminded of that one article he had read, he couldn't get over it. It was exactly the same, though at that day he had thought of it as some sort of movie plot, he had thought of it as something that would never to him, though he bothered reading it all in pure interest, and could remember thinking he would totally win it, he never knew it would become his reality. Despite thinking so earlier, he was very much aware he would never be able to win it and go home, if anything he'd die as one of the first, most likely a painful dead. He was terrified of what was going to happen, maybe it was karma, he should've never opened the article, he should've continued with whatever he was working on instead.
Sounds came from the room, everyone had been taking and speaking up, and as soon as he heard a gunshot, every bit of hope there was for this being a sick joke had now left. His eyes wandered over to the now limp body along with a pool of blood surrounding him, one of his classmates, someone he used to see and talk to everyday, though they weren't friends he didn't hate this person, and though sometimes he could get pissed at this person, he would never actually wish for this person to die. It then really hit him, this was all real and this way probably going to happen to him too, he would die too, just like in the articles, he'd be killed by one of his classmates, or maybe the metal collar around his neck-- either way, he would die.
He could hear names along with their student numbers faintly being called in the background, though he didn't pay much attention to it as he was completely lost in thought, purely in hope it would change the reality that was happening outside of his daydream, but it wouldn't, he knew that. Familiar names passed and as he knew his name would fall of the male's lips soon, he started slowly coming back to reality, causing his eyes to widen and his throat to become dry. As more names passed and he watched the people get their backpack, he knew it would be his turn soon and purely because of the fear, his body started shaking a little.
'Student number 21, Kim Yukwon.' echoed in the room, it was completely silent, only soft gasps left some people's lips. He swallowed some saliva, his eyes wandering over to his old teacher before he stifted his gaze towards the car filled with bags. On shaky legs, he managed to get up, stumbling over towards the car only to get a bag thrown over and catching it with some difficulty. With his arms hardly able to support the bag, he left the room quickly, soon picking up his pace and running past the armed people in the hallway through the big door into the cold night air.
There wasn't much more than green, bushes, trees and grass was what surrounded the litle building he had come out of, he threw the bag over his shoulders and decided to run first, he wasn't sure whether people would already decide to kill him but he wasn't going to take that risk. After glancing around, he made his way over to the left, running in a full speed, far away from the building. He didn't know for how long he had been running and he didn't know for how much longer he would be running, but all he knew was that he was going to continue. The sound of leaves shuffling and breaking underneath his shoes, made it quite obvious however he tried being as quite as possible.
He found a spot, despite having seen a little wooden house, he knew it would be too obvious to go there as someone would probably be already hiding in there or would go there soon, instead he ran a little further until he had found some high bushes, instead of hiding behind it, he managed to break some of the branches and crawl underneath it instead, figuring the change of people not finding him that way would be much higher than when hiding behind them or in such an obvious place as a small house.
There wasn't much light as it was turning dark already, but enough for him to see what was in the bag, so as he had tugged it off his back and opened it up, he immediately looked through it. A bottle of water, some bread, a flashlight, a map and what seemed to be his weapon were stuffed inside. He immediately reached for the shiny weapon, as he was curious what it would be. As soon as more light shone on it, he realized it was a knife, one that wasn't too big, easy to carry but perhaps not too easy to use as something that could be used from afar would probably a lot easier, but he couldn't complain-- not in a situation like this.
He reached for the tie around his neck, widening it before taking it off and tossing aside, he knew being comfortable would be good right now, in order to run faster and hide easily, he wasn't supposed to stand out much, or make a lot of sounds. Taking off his bracelets, he tossed them aside also, checking the rest of his body to find out if he had anything else that could perhaps make any sounds, or reflect the light of someone else's flashlight as he was hiding in the dark. Immediately he got reminded of the collar around his neck, a frown appeared on his face only to get an idea. Leaning in, he pulled the hem of his shirt away from his body and tore a piece of fabric off his dress shirt, wrapping it around the collar making sure not a piece of the glinstering metal could be seen.
If he was going to die, he would die after trying his best.
