“Don’t Know”

received the signed divorce papers from him late last week. shipped them off to the harris county district clerk's office today.

bittersweet, this feeling. the last pages in the last chapter of our story. i once wholeheartedly believed i'd spend the rest of my days with him, and now i hope to never see his face again. i made both the best and worst decisions of my entire life in the fifteen years we shared, and learned many lessons. some of those lessons came easy, and some dragged me into muck and mire.

i'm doing my best to be grateful for what i learned, for the opportunities my time with him provided me. i never would've met the greatest love of my life if he and i hadn't stumbled on each other, and that alone is enough to make me seek out forgiveness. i think it will be easier for me to forgive him. less so for me to forgive myself, but i will not stop trying.
