I never thought I would be walking on a runway. I used to be so shy, diffident, awkward, anti-social, dowdy, and styleless. My mom decided to enroll me in one of the modeling agencies in Davao (Philippines). She knows that it will develop my self-esteem. Since then, I was able to dress well and became confident in socializing. I stopped modeling because it's not really my dream but I am thankful for my mom's effort and support. The experience was one of the reasons why I became who I am today.

Ever since social media accounts have been exposed to all of us, we begin to post things we think that can entertain people and get them check our posts. We have been into photographs. We make great photos and support it with appropriate quotes or captions. After seeing people like and leave comments on our posts, we get motivated to post more. After getting used to having many followers, we tend to be conscious of who likes or how many reviews we receive on our posts. Oftentimes, when we notice that our picture doesn’t get any like or are few, we then begin to be doubtful, insecure, and minutes after we would delete it for we think people aren’t attracted to it. This is when we are chained to the thought of seeking other people’s affirmation rather than from God.

In our selfies, we refine it, edit it, and find the perfect angle to make it worth the post. We try to put a filter on just to cover up our flaws. But that only shows a part of us. There is more to that.

We must not be concerned of the likes or reviews of other people. The important thing is how God sees us; if we are pure or not. God is the only One who sees us - the real us; without filters and edit. He sees the true us and still calls us His beloved.

From this moment on, tell yourself, “I am more than my selfie post” and share it knowing who you are in CHRIST.
