Hello! I am a eclectic pagan, meaning I make my own rules and pathway in life.
1. Traditional Christianity says no, but you are always free to be yourself in spirituality! You can blend the two in a way that feels right.
2. Spells aren’t the ones you see on social media. They need intention, prayer or meditation, and symbolic actions. Getting your spells from Pinterest or TikTok is most of the time unsafe.
But if you are curious, my favorite books are The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock and Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. Most of the time “spellwork” is just focus, emotion, belief, and repetition. You don’t need anything complicated. Try journaling, meditation, setting intentions, and basic protection.
3. To get into witchcraft is personal rather than strict. It’s about finding what feels right and comfortable to you and your spirituality. To start, please research before you get into the nitty gritty. Research different types of witches, crystals, herbs, and different energies. This is important before you start spell work or anything. But do be careful, you might be misinformed too.
I got into witchcraft from my mom. She’s been a witch longer than I have and I followed her closely and watched as she practiced. Then I branched out on my own, finding what was right for me.
4. Getting into witchcraft can feel exciting but also a little overwhelming at first. The key is to start simple, stay grounded, and build your own path over time instead of trying to do everything at once.
Start with your intent, energy, grounding yourself, and protection. I cannot stress it enough, protection is important. Learn to ground, protecting your energy, and cleansing your space regularly.
You don’t need anything fancy. Little by little is all you need.
Keep a journal or Book of Shadows to write down anything you learn, tarot pulls, feelings, signs, experiences, and spells or rituals you try.
At first, do simple practices like lighting a candle, meditating, or pulling tarot daily.
Your intuition matters, but make sure to not assume everything is a “sign,” stay grounded in reality, and it’s okay to question things.
Sorry for my long speech but I get passionate about my crafts. Remember to stay safe and responsible! Blessed be !!
