A wager

Take a good look at the countries leading/have started the legal battles to hold the IOF accountable -their fights to end IOF terrorism and war crimes, as this should have been done months ago, are now beginning.

So many Palestinian people have been genocided, and the rampant global government inaction has caused chaos, death, and destruction of Gaza... I just hope this leads to a permanent ceasefire and an end to the occupation. I truly do.

Israel has literally made it part of their PR strategy to compare this to 9/11, hoping to take advantage of Western trauma to bypass actual questions about facts or history or war crimes or genocide. That's not a guess: it's in writing

When someone tries to dodge evidence, dodge history, dodge facts, dodge discussions of genocide by saying 'it's like 9/11', I hope that what comes to mind is the horrible, horrible mistakes that we made after that tragedy. The genuine atrocities committed by the US in the wake of that tragedy. Even on an individual level, hate crimes spiked in the US, Mosques were targeted. There was even a spike in hate crimes against Sikhs because not only were people hateful and bigoted, they were too ignorant to even know who they were aiming their hate at. The US government took advantage of this nationalism and anger to drag the US into decades of senseless war. Not everyone was fooled then, and even fewer are fooled now. Here's Bernie Sanders speaking out against the war over 20 years ago, and called out White House war propaganda:

Here he is a few weeks ago reminding us how we allowed anger to radicalize us after 9/11, and that "having the right to defend your country against a terrorist attack and a terrorist organization like Hamas does not mean having the right to violate international law, and wage indiscriminate warfare against innocent men, women, and children in Gaza"

When someone is dodging simple fact-based questions and trying to appeal to your emotions instead, ask yourself why.
