A House is a House: Past

Paisley nodded and returned her brother’s hug. “I’m happy I got Ravenclaw, but I don’t even want to sit with them right now. Do you think people would notice if I sneak over to the Slytherin table to sit with you? Or you could sit with me at Ravenclaw. That might be more inconspicuous since you weren’t just sat up there being sorted.”
She let her shoulders fall and shook her head. “Nope. Do you think I could transfer houses or something? Get re-sorted?” She scratched the back of her head. “Maybe it won’t be so bad?” Being in Slytherin would’ve meant their father was happy, sure, but it also would’ve made Paisley a lot less anxious as a first year to have her brother right there with her.
“I’m not sure people would mind too much.” He mused with a grin. “If you want me to come and sit with you at Ravenclaw, I’ll come and sit with you.” William replied with a nod. If anyone said anything, he’d give them a glare and they’d probably back off. Then again, he was only a second year. “Let’s go.”
“That’s not how it works, P.” He mused with a half-hearted laugh. “Maybe.” He knew the truth but he wasn’t about to worry her about it. “Besides, I bet mum’ll be thrilled. I mean she was a Ravenclaw so there’s that. And you know gran and grandad are just happy you’re at Hogwarts.”
