It makes me wonder how bad it is in the ones at Disney parks, though I know I used to hear some rumor that some of them were built with some sort of portable air conditioning. Not sure how much truth there is to that, though. And exactly, you have to go out of your way to not have a good time there. Or be just too stuck on the more modern places with all the newest rides and stuff.

As far as I know, there's a very strict 30-ish minute timer on the ones in Disney Parks. Probably don't actually have any internal cooling due to the close proximity with children, but it's not impossible. I feel like too many people get caught up in the need for modernity that they lose sight of how cool older stuff can be.

Oh well, yeah I guess that would do it, I do think Christmas has started to push through earlier more and more, Halloween stuff going out around July has been happening I think the past few years now. And then they started marketing summerween which isn't so much starting it early, more just catering other seasons to the people that love spooky season so much. They've even started that with Christmas decor and other holidays too, really.

I feel like Summerween is also a pushback on Christmas in July, neither of which I have much opinions on. Like, more power to you, for putting in that kind of effort, really.

Oh okay, yeah that makes more sense then. I guess for me that'd be comparable to going to see a movie I want to see, but then also going to see a movie that doesn't necessarily interest me but there's an actor in it that I really usually enjoy their work, so I'll check the movie out just because of them being in it.

It's exactly like that, honestly. I definitely get through books much faster and much more frequently than I do movies, but the vibes are similar in that regard.

Can someone tell me why gym bros think it's even remotely okay to come over and hit on me while they're sweaty, gross, and musty? Like, I get it, I'm hot and I'm usually not doing much but tapping away on my phone at my receptionist desk. Go ahead, shoot your shot! But come on, dude, at least have the decency to wait until you don't stink to do it. It's not just me, right? Literally nobody likes that. I mean, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and you actually like the sweat. I promise I'll try my best to only judge you a little.

Yes, I love how there's sometimes people dressed in the candy bar costumes too, though I can only imagine how hot it can get in those. And exactly, Knoebels is free parking, free to get in, you just have to buy the ticket books to go on the rides and pay for food or games! How much better can it get than that?

If it's anything like fursuits and other mascot costumes, entirely too hot. Like, is it going to be the best amusement park you've ever been to? No, probably not, but it's still going to be a good time.

Tell me about it. It's creepy how you could just be thinking about something and next thing you know, ads for what you were thinking about are popping up on your phone.

That's actually kind of wild to think about. I always just figured people picked audiobooks for when there was a book they wanted to read, but couldn't find the time to sit down and read it. But it sounds like half the battle is finding a narrator you actually enjoy listening to. I still don't know if audiobooks are for me, but I can definitely see the appeal a little more now than I did at the start of this conversation.

Oh, I definitely pick books that I want to read, but I will also listen to a book if one of my favorite narrators is reading it, even if I don't immediately find interest in it. I've also DNF'd books where the narrator(s) give it a weird vibe. Ones with multiple narrators can be more interesting, honestly.

I remain fascinated by the fact that enough therapists have apparently had opinions on certain aspects of your personality to establish a consensus. That feels statistically significant.

You have to remember, I was living on the road for a long time, so I was swapping therapists pretty recently before settling here.

Yeah, I can understand not everyone is as crazy about the holiday as me, kind of like how some people go just as insane over Christmas. But I don't know, I wouldn't say it's that wild. I mean, the past few years stores have started putting out Halloween right after the 4th of July anyway.

I'm not big on any holidays, they all kinda just feel weird to me. So I find holidays starting earlier and earlier to be wild, in it's own way.

Dorney Park is a good one, I’ve been a few times. Then there’s Hershey Park which has always been a blast too, I love going through the chocolate factory tour and getting that free piece of candy at the end. The singing cows are probably my favorite part of the whole thing. I’m also thinking about Knoebels, I’ve been there a couple times and it has that really cute “frozen in time” kind of feel to it. Like the Haunted Mansion there is so not scary, but that kind of makes it even better because you just end up laughing through the whole thing.

I think I did Hershey as a little kid, but I don't really remember it. Haven't gone back, though I really should. Ooh, Knoebels can be fun, especially when you consider it's less expensive.

Yeah, that’s a really good point. Surprisingly I hadn’t really thought about it from the privacy angle before. It does feel like one of those things that’s slowly becoming more of a regular conversation now though, even outside of tech spaces.

Yeah, for sure. Like, as much as I know smart home tech makes life easier for a lot of people with, and without, chronic illness, the monitoring aspect of things is growing increasingly more terrifying.

A poetry book is such a cool thing to finish — I’d love to hear more about it whenever you feel like sharing. Do you have a favorite piece in it, or is that like asking a parent to pick a favorite child? And if you do end up doing a reading, I’d be really interested in going.

I'm excited to see how it goes when it's finished, which I really do hope is finished sooner rather than later. It will depend on which ones actually make it into the book, though I think my favorites won't make it into the book, honestly. I'll definitely see what I can do and make it known once I do.
