I’m sure we’ve been hearing it for most of our lives, the body and brain are made up of mostly water. Hell, even the Earth is made up of of this mysterious liquid. What’s funny is with all that being said, Water is not natural to the planet; it came here some 4 and a half billion years ago. It is something that makes the planet unique and apparently something we can’t get enough of. All my life I’ve been hearing it: Drink More Water. More importantly, is how much and when to drink it. It has been recommended that we drink eight 8 ounce glasses per day. It has not always been the easiest thing for me to do, but I am seeing the benefits of improving on this habit.
Some of my greatest mentors and the health experts have recommended drinking water first thing upon waking. Me being a morning person, that is right up my alley. 16 ounces at least should be enough to give great benefits throughout the day. Here are some that I’ve noticed:
1. Rehydration - During sleep your loses a lot of this precious substance we call water. It’s best to put it back to get things back on track
2. Metabolism - Drinking water this early in the day gives a jump start to your metabolism.
3. Flush Out Toxins - Getting fluids into your system right after you wake up assists in flushing out toxins.
4. Good For Brain - Your brain is 75% water. It doesn’t operate as well when not properly hydrated. This is a good chance to get some hydration in to improve cognitive function and mood for the day. Be smart.
5. Feel Full - I’ve been noticing that I don’t feel the urge to eat as much. Drinking water upon waking makes it where you can hold off on breakfast for a few hours and possibly not eat as much throughout the day.
It seems to many benefits to having that early glass of water. Wake and Drink.

Found a really good spot in Baltimore to eat. Anyone that know me knows that I like to hang and eat at healthy places that are affordable. One of the ones that I frequently visit and post pics of, has been Sweetgreen. In the quest to find something new yet similar, I have came across Honeygrow. One of my good Friends' dad recommended it after seeing me post a Sweetgreen pic. He advised that it was similar but had stir-fry and noodle dishes as well. So this is where I begin my date night. I chose to go here before heading off to see the new movie "Get Out". One of the first things I noticed were the screens that were conveniently placed in front of the food stations. It made ordering fairly easy without even having to speak to anyone. I chose a stir-fry dish with spicy noodles and Tofu. It was right up my alley and they offered organic sodas fountain drink style made by Maine Root(I brought the bottled version of these in the Health Market, Good Stuff). Everything was good. I can't wait to get back out there and try more dishes. If you are in Baltimore and in the Charles Village area, it's might be worth it to check it out.
