MJ is slowly falling back in love with Peter, even without her original memories of him.

In her head she's playing back all the new memories they've made, and this is the song that's playing.

HOWEVER

Jean Grey basically told Peter, and thus the audience, that his old life is gone. MJ had no memories of him, according to Jean and MJ herself. The spell worked.

The name of the movie is Brand New Day, and each day can be seen as a new beginning.

I think the only thing more lovely than MJ and Ned getting their memories back is them becoming friends, and Peter and MJ falling in love, all over again. They make new memories. They start over.

Her face covered the room. It was as if mirrors had been placed on each of the walls. The floresent lights above flickered on occasion, and the summer storm added to the unbearable humidity. At least everyone could speak through their tears, walk around the room and hold each other, providing any comfort they didn’t need for themselves, which was very little.

The speeches only made it worse. The reminiscing, the prayers, the hymns. Her friends, with makeup running down their bright red cheeks, declaring over and over again, “She was taken from us too soon.” At the sight of the dark sullen faces of mom and dad when they stood to blubber out some words, many had to leave the room.

Then, a brisk tugging on the skirt of my dress. At my side in the front row of the funeral home, my four-year-old brother, dressed in his brand-new suit and tie. “You look like a ghost now, Morrigan” he claimed.

You find the most comfortable spot in your home. Today it’s your bed, tomorrow

it will be the floor, and the next day it will be the kitchen table. You realize your back hurts

no matter where you work.

You toss and tangle yourself in yarn. The entire color wheel speaks

to you, each with a different texture. As you gaze and touch your eyes start to burn

and your fingers go numb, until all the yarn appears the same.

You believe you’re ready to start, then realize you forgot

how to tie a slip-knot. There are three million search results online, you watch

them all over a glass of wine, feeling silly for thinking you could do it in the first place.

Then, a wave of self-compassion washes over you like a ray

of warm afternoon sun, because if you really wanted a perfect blanket,

you would have gone out and bought one.

The passenger seat of your parents’ car. A Walmart parking lot

on a sharp snowy evening in December. Your bedroom floor,

its blue shag carpet pricking your skin like needles, while absorbing your tears.

The local Denny’s Diner.

Underneath the gym bleachers, two teenagers confess their love. Two others

fight for their friendship on the opposite side.

In the school cafeteria, you and your friends debate on if the chicken they served

is fully cooked, and random fits of clapping and cheering emerge

like a figure from fog.

In your managers office. Your fifteen-minute lunch during the Christmas rush.

Your grandparents house, spending the day hunting and fishing. You sleep

on their ancient pullout couch.

A hospital and a funeral home, a church

and a club. Inside a pub, running into your first love.

Anywhere with air, alcohol, ancestry,

And crippling human consciousness.

I’ve received books everywhere. From yard sales to outlets to birthday gifts. Because there is no one way or place to buy a book, what we all come across may vary drastically. So, here are a few books that may have slipped under your radar and that I highly recommend, along with a short SPOILER FREE review.

1.   Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

While this book did reach the bestseller list and had it’s own movie adaptation, it has quickly fallen into obscurity, and hasn’t been talked about in a while. Follow Bernadette, a wife and mother who is trying to make the most out of a life she didn’t want. When she finds she simply can’t do it anymore, she vanishes, and her daughter takes it upon herself to find her. 

Hilarious and heartfelt, this book will make you laugh and cry, while also reminding you that it’s never to late to live the life you want.

2. Joy Land by Stephen King

While Stephen King is a very well-known author, many tend to overlook his untraditional scary stories. Enter Joy Land. Devin Jones takes a summer job at the Joy Land theme park after a break-up with his girl friend. While there, he stumbles upon a dying child, a grieving mother, and the legend of a gruesome murder he may just solve.  

While more of a true crime, coming of age novel than a horror story, King ventures out of his element in an interesting and surprising way, while retaining some of his familiar supernatural elements.

3. Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham 

I found this book several years ago at my local Ollies discount store, and received a funny, emotional, relatable tale about what it really means to be a starving artist.

In 1995 New York City, Franny Banks is struggling to make ends meet along with her two roommates, landing small commercial rolls and waiting tables. When the potential for a big break comes along however, Franny will learn that fame is a foundation of sand, and many other accomplishments can move towards a successful life.

When I am analyzing a piece of writing, the very first thing I do is look at the background information of the author, in an effort to better understand what goes into their work. I figured, since I'll be posting some of my own writing soon, I'd do the same so you can better understand me!

I suffer from OCD and Anxiety. I feel like this one is the most important to get out of the way. I have suffered from Obsessive Compolsive Disorder, specifically Harm OCD, and anxiety for the majority of my life. My obsessions are usually based around intrusive thoughts convincing me that I am a horrible person, and that I'm somehow going to hurt the ones I love. It is a very large topic that I'm not going to go all the way in to, but I have received help throughout my life and am surrounded by wonderful people who make everything better. Of course, if you find yourself struggling with your mental health, I encourage you to seek help from a professional. Therapy is very beneficial no matter what you're going through ❤.

I do not want to only be a writer. I've never felt drawn to just one form of creating. If anything, instead of being referred to as a writer, I want to be referred to as a creator! While writing is my prefered method of artistic expression, I also enjoy making collages, painting, and singing. I'd also like to dabble in some game design, as well as script writing to tell my stories in several different ways! While some ideas work better in a book, they don't always transfer well to the screen. Take the work of Stephen King for example.

I am an English major in my sophomore year of college! My specific concentration is writing for the workplace, with a minor in political science. In today's society, it's hard to not be involved in politics in some shape or form, and I figured it would make me look smarter 🤷‍♀️. However, I am considering changing my concentration to Creative Writing. If I can't be a full time author, I would like to become an editor.

The first story I can remember writing was when I was around four years old. Back then, loud noises terrified me, and we got a lot of thunderstorms where I lived. So, in order to comfort myself, I wrote a small story about a thunderstorm that eventually turned into a rainbow, completely with a picture of a rainbow drawn by yours truly in Microsoft Paint for Windows 2000.

Music is my inspiration for creativity. To me, music is the salt on the French fry. It heightens all of my senses and makes my emotions more powerful, which really helps my writing when I'm try to convey emotions. I'm a big alternative rock, 2000s pop girl, but sometimes it depends on how I'm feeling.

It doesn't matter if it's three pages or thirty pages or three-hundred pages. Write your story.

It doesn't matter if it takes you days, months, years or even decades. Write your story.

It doesn't matter if it's a "waste of time" or "not a real job". Write your story.

It doesn't matter if your writing it for a friend or for a class or for a publishing house. Write your story.

It doesn't matter if "no one will ever read it". Write your story.

It doesn't matter if you write it in a journal, on a computer, or even on sticky notes. Write your story.

It doesn't matter if it's for children, young adult, history, non-fiction, historical fiction, romantic, science fiction, fanfiction or whatever else. Write your story.

If the idea matters to you, then it matters.

No excuses.
