Ooooo Sony I hate you!!
I’ve had a continually growing unease about the erasure of physical media, and the latest announcement from Sony was the final push I needed to for real for real establish a physical media collection. I have a solid collection of games (which I may document in this blog in some way), but I have nothing by way of movies or TV shows.
This blog is going to serve two functions:
Serve as a general archive of physical media. Intend to record box art, important dates, and copy recorded on the cover
Help me reconcile with the fact that I cannot feasibly have a robust collection of physical media and also keep every case. I simply don’t have the space.
Ideally, once the case is archived, it will be available to anyone for just the price of shipping. The last thing I want is for the cases to go die in a landfill, and I feel confident there other physical media darlings that would like cases to complete their collections.
I have a passion for archival of all types, I find it extraordinarily fulfilling. I’ve done novice work during my undergrad in the natural sciences department, and I have many WIPs for my other personal collections, but this is my first time making an archive this public. Please bear with me as the account grows, I learn the best course of action, and narrow down the best way to document my newest hobby.
