Make a Tilted Photo Look Intentional

A crooked photo does not always need fixing.

The awkward version is usually the almost-straight version: the photo leans a little, but the tape, caption line, boxes, and margins around it all behave as if nothing is leaning.

That makes the page look accidental.

Commit to the angle

You can either straighten the photo completely, or you can commit to the angle.

If you keep the tilt, support it with one or two nearby choices: match the tape angle, let the caption baseline lean in the same direction, or give the opposite side more whitespace so the page has balance.

Do not fight it halfway

The goal is not to make everything crooked. The goal is to make the tilt look chosen.

Intentional asymmetry feels calmer than accidental almost-straight.

Either make it straight, or make the surrounding structure agree with it.

Reduce Corner Decoration On Crowded Page

When a journal page feels crowded, the problem is not always the main content.

Corner decoration is easy to remove because it usually does not carry the page's information.

Keep one anchor

If every corner is decorated, the page can feel full before you write anything. Remove the extra clusters first.

A quiet corner is often more useful than another tiny decoration.
