I will do blurry motion, however for now I am sticking with this frozen clip. Capturing a moment in time and getting that frozen sports photo look interests me more. For the final portfolio I will try to include a frozen and motion picture.

“I visited many places, Some of them quite Exotic and far away, But I always returned to myself.” ― Dejan Stojanovic
We all have that one place we go to to get away, whether it be from work, relationships, school, or even yourself. You leave the stressful environment, go to your space, leave the stressed you behind, think and release all that is bothering you, and then you return back-back to yourself.
1st "Soccer Field" - 1/320 sec @ F/3.8 -- Strobe was to the right of me, angled up, and not directly on the goal post, slightly to the side. Time of day was round 3 o'clock.
2nd "Walks" - 1/320 sec @ F/5 -- Lighting was relatively the same as the second. Strobe was to the left of me as you can tell by the models shadow. Middle setting (brightness). Believe light was not straight on and was tilted up slightly. Time of day was around 3 o'clock.
3rd "The Lake" - 1/200 sec @ F/3.5 -- Model was facing the light, Light was angled up so just the edge of the light was hitting the model. Strobe was on the lowest setting. Time of day was around four or five o'clock.
4th "Forest Adventures" - 1/13 sec @ F/4.2 -- Model was facing away from the light. Strobe was to my left close to the ground, as you can see form the shadow of the stick she is playing with. Not a huge fan of the shadow from the stick, however it does separate the stick form the tree bark. Time of day was around four or five.
5th "Lake" - 1/3200 sec @ F/3.5 (strobe did fire). -- Strobe was to my right slightly angled up. Lowest setting. The shadows of her legs are from natural light.
Photographer used two Sony strobes - full power to create a day to night effect. Model is facing strobe. Want to work more during the time of day when sun starts to go down. I like the nighttime look. Not sure what my series will be.
1st - full body 2nd - Rembrandt. Shutter 1/13. Aperture F6.3. ISO 200. 3rd - Split face. Shutter 1/13. Aperture F7.1. ISO 200. 4th - Butterfly. Shutter 1/15. Aperture F16. ISO 200. 5th - Loop. Shutter 1/15. Aperture F5.6. ISO 200.

Im interesting with working with gels. I haven't really used them much to portray emotion and to show character so I would like to explore them more. I want my portraits to be different and fun - I want them to have a sort of fun, cotton candy, dramatic feel. I chose the top photo because I plan to use fun makeup. I really like the pink and the fun to this picture. The gels are very interesting, they don't really show a mood they're more for the development of the photo. Only think I won't be doing is having the blurriness in my photo. (dim light coming from left with blue gel.Light on the background.Yellow brighter light coming from right -she's looking into light -softbox)
Bottom two by Geoffrey Jones
Last two photos are very similar to the first. Just by looking at his wall for 4 min I noticed Geoffrey Jones looks to be a very female body/sex oriented photographer. I like how in the last photo her hair is wet I think that would be something interesting to do as well as having water on the face and lips. (Light coming from the righ of the camera, dim light with pink gel. Light on the left just to give purple affect - i don't know if editing was used a little for the coloring. like the light on her shoulder). The middle photo caught my attention because of the colors. I like how the front of her is yellow, the middle is blue, and the back is purple. In this photograph the gels play more of an emotional role - however I'm not really sure what the emotion is. (Light from left with yellow gel - soft box. Light top right baby blue aqua blue gel. Light from behind with pink gel. Don't think its a big soft box or a sport light. maybe a strong small soft box.)
Basis for project - Makeup, crazy hair, gels, water, fun/cotton candy/cartoon appeal.
Katharine Hepburn by Avedon
http://www.all-about-photo.com/photographer.php?name=Richard%20Avedon&id=115&popupimage=13
I like how the lighting is set up on Hepburn. it gives the face sharp angles and edges. Light is coming from the left side of the camera and slightly above Hepburn, the background looks as though it has a light on it as well. It looks as though she has a split face affect with the lighting - and its interesting that the light is coming from the left and she's looking away from the light and its giving off this affect. Her nose, lips, and chin all have sharp angles and harsh shadows.
Additional inspiration photos.
first photo - gardening with mom and baby.
2nd photo - dad leaving - want it to be grainy and blurry background
3rd photo - Also for the gardening picture with mom and baby/child. Base and background for picture - like the composition.
1st -https://www.flickr.com/photos/lilj104/8616468767/ {Outside natural lighting. Maybe an additional light behind the camera at a high angle.} Like the lighting. I want my first picture to have a romantic, homie, young, pure feel.
2nd - Sarina < http://sarinalove.com/about-sarina-love/ > {natural lighting? Light coming from the top right corner. The highlights on the top of the shoes and on the right side of the shoes.} Want my second photo to have a feeling or new life feel - pink gel and bright lighting.
3rd left - Firdaus Ghazali {Dim soft box pulled away, to the right - btwn 90 degree and the camera.} 3rd right - Photographer unknown taken from google images. {Small soft light above to the left. Light coming threw the background or light shining on background with spot light. Background paper might me very thin}Want third photo to have a brown, country, dirt feel to it.
Bottom - Alex Koloskov. {Light shining on the background, black background, gray/ white base, soft box dimmed or pulled back raised a little, on the left and the right to get the highlights} I like the dark lighting (not saying that dark lighting is the technique) in the photo and the spot light. The spot light is going to help add a dramatic and heart felt emotion to my photo. I want my last photo to really hit people.
Final Project
There are several ideas in my mind for the final project. However the decision of which idea I will use will be determined by which idea I can do more with.
Option number one - I like the idea of taking photographs that send a message. I would like my three photographs to send a message threw the story that is being told. My idea is to work with nature, such as flowers, grass. tree bark, leaves, and rocks. I want to send a message that deals with littering and destroying the beauty of nature with man made/machine made objects. Threw the photos I would show the nature object slowly withering away and by the end of the photos the man/machine made object would be taking over what ever nature object that was around it.
Option number two - Working with a certain individuals life and telling their story. It would start out with the youth and purity of a young child and use some extra objects that have to deal with their childhood. Then as time went on it would show how a tragic accident caused their life to spiral out of control. Also for this I would like to use my realistic doll house to add detail and a more interesting design.
Option number three - Pretty similar to the second option, except I would like to show the day in the life of someone. Im not sure if I want to keep it casual or if I want to work with a life that is a bit more complicated (maybe they have a sickness they have to take pills at a certain time or someone who is addicted to alcohol or drugs).

Top Photo - adjective is destructive. ISO @ 200. White balance was turned up. Shutter speed @ 1/60. Aperture @ F11.
Middle Photo - adjective is destructive. ISO @ 200. White balance turned up. Shutter speed @ 1/50. Aperture @ F5.6.
Last photo- adjective is strong. ISO 200. White balance turned up. Shutter speed @ 1. Aperture @ F5.
First two photos are to show destruction. I had a hard time decided between the two so I put them both up. The set up was pretty simple. As you can see in picture of the setup, I had two soft boxes one on the left at a 45 degree angle and the other on the right a little more than 90degrees. Both soft boxes had anywhere between 1 to 3 lights on. I believe for these photos they each only had one light on. Also I had the little battery powered UV light right next to my camera. For the first photo I had a green gell on the soft box to the left. By giving the objects a green glow to them I feel like it gave the picture more of a grungy bad feeling. In the second photo the light was adjusted to give off a warm light. Also I believe I had a red gell on the small UV light. While taking this picture I held the UV light in my hand and held it above the subject. I kept taking photos while moving the light around in different places to manipulate the shadows and the appearance of the metallic objects. In this particular photo I held the light above the subjects a little behind them. I like having the darkness in the front because it helped play up the adjective of destructive better than if I was to have the subjects appear bright.
The last photo was my favorite to shoot. I was using my creative problem solving side to create this picture- as you can see in the shot of my set up. I had a scrim between my subject and the spot light that was behind the subject. I had a black piece of paper with holes poked in it taped to the scrim to create the bright dots that are supposed to look like metal sparks. I used a cord, tape, and a clamp to hold up the shower headish looking metallic object. My base for the setup was a clear watery looking plastic sheet. I wanted the objects to look like they were sitting on water almost. I did not want them to be clearly reflected but instead a little distorted and fuzzy. I think this photo represents strong because of the fact that the flower is still standing strong even though its being rained on my metallic sparks and its sitting on a bed of chains. I get the sense of strength and power when I look at this photo.
- Fork Wood Water Photography by Cuba Gallery (Name on Tumblr).
This photo was shot on the artists kitchen table. The light source is a big light - maybe a soft box. The light is coming from the top slightly to the right. Because of the highlight on the fork and where the shadow is I think there might be a very dim light up above, maybe the light from the room. I like the crop of the image, its very balanced and your eye knows where to go. I'm not just focused on the fork, my eye is also looking at the texture in the table and the water. Also I think having the blurry background helps with the flow.
If I had to pick an adjective that this photo portrays I would say lonely.
