my design thoughts (...IF you can even call it that!) for goob and scraps!

goob is the Fluffy craft... therefore his hair MUST be floofy! scraps is the Paper craft. i always envisioned her with a dark, choppy (like paper) bob.

goob has 1 monolid and 1 double eyelid! they're meant to emulate his silly O_o face!

scraps has stickers over her face and hair clips of assorted shapes in her hair! (paper craft things... it makes sense 2 me!)

goob's natural eye color is brown (the same shade as his roots and eyebrows), but he wears red and blue contacts! the stars on his cheeks are also stickers! he's matchin' with scraps x]!

i also headcanon them both with the vietnamese-chinese-american beam, because i am a goob one trick pony and i like to hit my favorites with my ethnicity beam 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

her hair is choppy just like scraps, but maxed out to the highest degree! i still imagine it being incredibly soft, though! i want to run my hands through her bangs to reveal her eyes....... WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE NEXT POINT!

she has super overgrown bangs that cover her eyes, but this is what i imagine her eyes to look like that "nobody: people with brown eyes when the sun hits their face at the perfect angle:" meme HAHA

i didn't do a very good at showing this, but she wears 2 sets of leg warmers. 1 pair around her legs and the other hair around her arms! she's a little quirky like that <3

she's also covered head-to-toe with bandaids and bandages! she's yatta the pinata… the object you beat up with a stick :(. she's always getting hurt!

lemme spitball some of my lighter headcanons first because they're probably easier to digest.

minako is PAN (to me). NOT BI, GAY, OR STRAIGHT, BUT PAN! i'm so adamant about this headcanon, LOL.

i deadass forgot if i assigned this to REI 4-5 years ago, and frankly, i'm much to embarrassed to check because my old self is cringe, but mina's a bit of a catch. rei is a dreamboat and mina is a catch, actually. i think people want both of em HAHA.

she's the goddess of love and beauty. by default, she's conventionally attractive.

and rei is rei, LOLLL. (insert the manga frame of her eating.) ikemen. i rest my case.

okay. i have thoughts about this, but they're kinda aimless. regardless, i think it's real neat that mina has multiple aspirations (one of em being volleyball and the other wanting to be an idol. das cute!)

I SAYYYY minako is hard to read. (insert that one tweet i love sm about stoic but expressive x appears cheerful but true emotions are hard to read), but REI IS THE ONLY EXCEPTION.

this is part in due to rei being rei. (she's a psychic and she's just naturally good at reading n' understanding people. BUT! (and this is the self-indulgent, mushy part of me talking) …this is also minako… that's her princess, bro… they r each other's princesses. i think she'd be extra attentive to her.

rei would be doing her own thing. maybe medicating or miscellaneous shrine chores when she feels minako approach her. without even turning around, she can sense her intentions. she's upset. she wants to see me. something like this!

i also think she'd be extra attentive BECAUSE mina's that silent griever type. (this is a headcanon i will DIE on.) …SHE CARES… SHE CARES SMMMMM. that's her beloved, bro. (sorry for being mushy on main. i am, unfortunately, very cringe.)

something about rei being the more possessive one out of the two. (that crystal animated scene of the manga where rei puts her arm over minako is so, so awesome. i love how smug rei looked in that scene. THAT'S HER GIRL!!!

i should probably add here that my characterization of rei is a mix between her different iterations. she's a hot-headed character and very, very proud! (martians are proud beings!) she's proud of her abilities and proud of her loved ones. she'd be so proud of (1) her partner and (2) of who her partner is.

there's this really vivid and cute scene i keep picturing in my head where all the inner senshis are a bit older (drinking age) and they're chilling in this booth. reinako's sitting next to each other, and minako's slumped against rei's shoulders with a closed eye smiling expression like (❁´◡`❁) and rei leans back with an expression like the TikTok proud emoji. they r both a littol flushed from drinkin' hehe.

regarding pda, i think it depends. i can see rei being both comfortable and "ehh" about it. touch is an interesting topic! i think generally speaking, she'd prefer that people don't touch her, but naturally, boundaries with friends and other people are different than with your partner!

i can't even lie. i feel like the more i like a character, the more i tend to mischaracterize them because i really like it when my faves are vulnerable and a little bit pathetic like a sad kicked puppy... SO NATURALLY. i feel like all of my favorite characters they are their own characters but they end up having this ASPECT to them that is entirely self-indulgent from my headcanons.

...maybe it's true though. maybe i'm right. (cope). with minako, i feel like how i truly see her is one thing and then the self-indulgent part of my brain sees her in a different light and i don't know... i think it works either way!

i think that she is, at her core, a very lonely individual but the way she presents herself is definitely as a golden retriever, sunshine baby, BUT this is not to say that she “fakes” her personality.

i think that all sides of her is truly her authentic self. THIS is herself! she is a deeply angsty and lonely person but she is also this golden retriever. it's a contradiction but two things can be true at once.

i don't think that she's angsty in the sense that “oh, i'm so sad, but i put on a face because i can't express my true emotions 🥺🥺🥺!” that's not minako. at least to me.

in my personal opinion, she's more of “the person i present myself as is who i want to be and the person i want to put forth into the world.”

she truly is this loving and silly girl, but then there are moments of vulnerability, and you get to see this other side of her. it’s not necessarily the side that she “hides,” but the side that the world doesn’t get to see very often because it’s not… necessary.

but you get to see it in the moments where she has to make tough decisions. like when her sailor v past comes up and… you know. she had to kill all those people in london because sailor moon wasn't awakened yet. that's trauma right there, bro.

gosh, i love the moments where we get to see her be solemn and quiet, because that's the part of her you don't get to see very often. do you see how quiet and solemn she gets? she's such a quiet griever.

she's this loud and “annoying” person, but when she's vulnerable, she's quiet. she grieves quietly because she doesn't want this to be the side of her that people know her as; she wants to be a ray of sunshine someone that lowkey will get your nerves because “why are you so loud and annoying???” …this other side of her is so precious. does she know how much she is loved? minako, you are so, so loved.
