Brianne's #whatsyourgold breakthrough.... My brother told me that he plays my music while he is at work and everyday at home. This is probably why my #soundcloud profile has 1,444 plays now. I have 12 followers on there no, and only one is my mom. There is no win too small to celebrate. I have 108 followers on Facebook and I just acquired a guitarist who's voice is Spanish honey electrified by rock and roll. Brianne's #whatsyourgold struggle. First of all, my name is also Brianne Eaton, but from birth and certainly it would seem odd for me to win a contest under those circumstances. So I don't expect to win, but I wouldn't win if I didn't try either. Anyways, I've been having to go by a stage name of LynA' Maddox because everything that pops up on google when I search my name is Brianne Theisen-Eaton. So there's that. Not my biggest struggle though. Fighting the urge to give up is. Not everybody is supportive and on the days that I feel like I'm standing on the far side of a long empty tunnel alone, I almost believe them. Like how my grandmother who has a general distaste for me said that if I wasn't famous alright that I'd never be. The woman had never heard my songs nor did she ever want to. Though she wasn't the only one, she was the one who hurt me the most. I can't give up. Brianne's #whatsyourgoldstory I run. Not for sport or competition, at least not anymore. Now I run for fear of being stagnant. I'm a musician and my gold is to be able to feed myself with my music. 8 years ago I began writing music with my best friend. We were silly, she played the guitar, I played a paint can and together we sang the first nonsense that came to mind. One day I sang a poem to what Erin was playing and something awoke or was let loose in me. Nothing had ever made more sense and felt so right. So we started a band and people came to our shows. Mostly friends but without them we wouldn't continue. We've played in a number of bars in NC and SC. It was ecstasy like when you are 4 miles into a run and the thought crosses your head, I could go on forever and never stop. We only ever made gas money and soon I knew that I had a big dream. I wanted to play for the entire world, to sing with them and dance with them. I knew that I couldn't get there by staying in SC. So I left to pursue my music and Erin stayed behind.
