Welcome to my fandom & writing account, everybody! I'm Lyd, I LOVE my fandoms, I write fanfiction (over on ao3) and I post silly things like headcanons or updates about my writing! I write everything from angst and hurt/comfort to fluff, domestic bliss and humor, and you can expect larger projects from me (though I do prefer writing a full fic before uploading it), such as my current project, a modern AU Zelink fic set in Hyrule reimagined as modern (more on that in "my works/WIPs" section :D )
I currently write and post mainly about Zelda (specifically Zelink), and although it seems as if I haven't posted a thing on ao3, I just privated/deleted my older works.. But by no means am I new to fandoms, fanfiction or the community ^_^

Enough rambling, let's get into details! My name's Lyd, I use she/her and if it wasn't clear yet I have a staggering Zelda hyperfixation that's been going strong for at least.. NINE MONTHS already? 😭 Writing is my creative outlet, but I also enjoy gaming (adventure, RPGs, cozy and much more!) and my favorite game rn is Tears of the kingdom (IT'S NOT A BOTW DLC STOP.)

(🪶) Blooming through my cracks, trampled to your tracks:
At first, Zelda's research tour across the country sounded exciting- two months of meeting new faces, visiting new locations, and the only condition would be conducting research for her senior thesis amidst her travels. It sounded too good to be true- maybe she was right.
When her father announced her travels shall be accompanied by a bodyguard for her 'safety', staying home started to sound great. Was living her entire life suffocating in diplomacy and optics not enough? Surely she had gone through enough to not have to deal with some random cadet babysitting her..
OR: Zelda knew Link’s job was to protect her from the world, but even Link couldn’t protect her from who they’d become.

Today's headcanon focuses on: Link and Zelda!
Today's headcanon tone: domestic
Tea time☀️
If Zelda's accent didn't share enough British traits (such as her accent leaning into British) I present you with another: love for tea!
Growing up as a royal means trying all kinds of exotic & artisan variants of tea, which led her to develop a taste for brews. Her favorite is chamomile, for the delicate sweetness it features as well as the mellow scent it carries through the air when prepared.
Often & specifically during breakfast, Link would brew tea that they'd have alongside their breakfast. After a visit to Zora's domain where he got to try spearmint tea, he declared it as his favorite the very same moment.
Fun fact about this headcanon, me and my friend were on call and I was talking about Zelink (as one does) and was saying I think Zelda would love chamomile tea and before I even MENTION Link, she goes: "Yeah, and Link would love mint tea or something" and I just stared like ( ˶°ㅁ°)

Vulnerability ☀️
Vulnerability is a topic I feel would be a weak suit for Link (considering he feels the need to quietly bear his burdens as to not seem weak in canon) But I feel like he'd trust Zelda so much that he'd believe it's alright to show her his imperfections and she'd still love him (She actually loves it when he's vulnerable.. shhh!)
After spending years with plenty of eyes looking upon him, all awaiting his success, failures and weaknesses might be pushed aside or bottled up since he'd see those as obstacles. Canonically, he opened up to Zelda about the reason he does not speak (fifth page of Zelda's diary), and she says: "Bit by bit, I've gotten Link to open up to me. " The fact she says 'bit by bit' furthers this headcanon, because it implies that it took a long time to get him to open up.
Even though he trusts Zelda, I feel like at first he refrained from things like sharing his feelings at first, but with constant reassurance Zelda coaxed him out of his shell and he started to share little things with her, such as being upset over things. He started feeling like he was allowed to take up mental space and actually feel things like every person :>
As time went on, he felt confident enough to be in his feels and actually SHOW it, express his own opinions and speak about what he wants, and eventually i'd say he would be secure enough to allow himself to cry in front of Zelda because she made him feel seen enough for him to be able to do so without feeling judged <3

Link and Zelda's house☀️
Personally, I was in SUCH disbelief when I started ToTK and saw that Link's house in Hateno village was ZELDA'S HOUSE? Her diary says Link never left her side during those few years between BoTW-ToTK, which really got me thinking.. （*゜ー゜*）
If I had to guess, I'd say that originally, Link let Zelda stay with him for the time being, and it quickly turned into them living together! Why would her diary be at his house, or why would she have a room for herself? I don't imagine she'd kick him out of his own house, especially along with the "Link never left my side" entry.
Now as a Zelink truther, i'd love to talk about the SINGLE BED In their house. I mean, do you really think Link would let Zelda sleep anywhere else when he can just give her the bed?
But Zelda (being the kindhearted girl she is) wouldn't want to make her knight suffer, would she? And that's why I'll stand by the fact that they probably slept in the same bed, even when they were just friends.
This MIGHT just be born of my love for Hateno (it is), but I will forever believe that even during & After ToTK, Link and Zelda still live in their house in Hateno- maybe they have a house in Tarrey town too, but I think they'll forever cherish the rusty ol' house <3

Nicknames ☀️
I think nicknames are such an adorable way for showing affection, so naturally I'd imagine the nicknames in the Zelda series xd
Zelda having a nickname was always a very cute idea to me, and my favorite nickname to imagine her in (or write in) is "Zel"! It's pretty adorable, and I think she'd love being called it, especially by Link, making it his own little nickname for her!
A person who I feel would use nicknames for EVERYONE is Purah, her vibes are so cheerful and fun and I think she'd take giving nicknames like a DUTY. Her nicknames end in -Y, such as her canonically naming Link "Linky", and I think she'd give Zelda "Zelly"! People who newly meet her might be thrown off by her nickname giving, but everyone warms up to it eventually ^_^

Link & Tulin’s bond ☀️
I imagine Link would have a sibling-like bond with Tulin, like Tulin would be such a lil iPad kid and ask for his Purah pad ALL THE TIME.. I have a vision and I hope you guys see it
I think they'd go on little outings and trips together (and Zelda would sometimes tag along too) like I saw this video where Zelda and Link taught Tulin to fish and he swore in excitement and Link was laughing while Zelda said Teba would kill them and that's just SO fricken cute I can't even
Also although Link would probably be like a cool older brother he'd still be pretty protective with him, for example if someone messed with Tulin they WILL have personal business with Link too and he will hold them to it..
I'll talk about this in the future, but I feel like one time Link and Tulin spent some time together in an archery range and Zelda came by to watch them for a while, Tulin showed her his bow excitedly and offered to let her try, not knowing she's a pretty skilled archer and his beak DROPPED when she hit a perfect bullseye <3

Zelda's hair ☀️
I feel like Zelda always wanted short hair, but she wasn't allowed to cut it to the length she'd long for because of her royal status. King Rhoam would think short hair is unbecoming, but that only made her want it more..
A while after Link rescued her, she felt that she had control over little, and so she wanted to control something- anything- she handed Link a knife with a request (Don't mind the way this sounds..), and he gladly obliged :D Sitting by the pond near their house, she watched her hair fall to the ground- and she finally felt freed from her strict past <3
She kept it short since!! Also I won't elaborate too much on this, but I feel like before she cut her hair Link thought of Zelda as his close friend who he also liked, but once he saw her turn around with her hair up to her chin, he felt his heart skip a beat.. BUT THAT'S ENOUGH FOR TODAY >_<
Are you pro dark/problematic content? Asking bcs a lot of authors in tloz fandom aren’t upfront about it until they randomly post something like noncon one day
Personally, I do not engage with problematic content (such as noncon, incest, pedophilia etc) and am NOT a proshipper/darkshipper! rest assured, you won't suddenly see a darkfic by me ^_^
