Greetings I am Star o/ (or Forest, or Foreststar) I am just here to have fun and scream into the ether about the stuff I like. Sometimes I may go a bit without posting anything tho bc words do not always work for me
Also I like dragons, swords, stars, soundtracks, pretty much anything fantasy and nature, etc. I adore stories of any kind! I’m studying classics and linguistics so I talk a lot about that, and my favorite hobby is swinging swords at my friends (HEMA—historical european martial arts, I mainly do longsword)

even if Sephiroth managed to escape Shinra I can easily see him falling into some other organisation that was just as controlling if not moreso, it's pretty common for cult survivors who don't get proper therapy to join another cult iirc
I could unfortunately see him becoming a figurehead for Avalanche. Where now he's right up front killing SOLDIER troops but he's still a pawn.
The unfortunate reality is that Sephiroth isn't leader material. Post-Nibelheim he's very solitary and operates alone, indifferent to his black robes unless he's using them. Pre Nibelheim, he was always very passive. He's not the leader of his group of friends, more just the face of it. And he generally only acts by himself when there's a greater need behind it, like saving his men, for instance. But he's no leader.
Truthfully, he would have been happy if he'd found Glenn's team again. I don't think Glenn would have exploited him, not even against Shinra. Glenn made some mistakes with Seph, but he did care ENOUGH about him to recognize Sephiroth's position. So I'd imagine they'd just let him hang out and wouldn't force him to participate in anything he wouldn't want.

something about how norahs conversation with her dad centered on feeling out of control and finding ways to take a hold of your life and cope with responsibility, followed immediately by an encounter in which the only way out is to relinquish control... the way norah was setting up to confess her dislike of the flute and ask to be away from the river, finally utilizing her autonomy in a supportive environment, and she struggled all the way up until it almost killed her but eventually had to give up and let whatever happened happen. so much of norahs story centers around autonomy and her lack thereof and it hurts so bad :,,(

Have I mentioned First Soldier recontextualizing Sephiroth's actions in Crisis Core yet? Obviously he doesn't want to kill Angeal and Genesis because they're his friends and he loves them. But there's now the added trauma of Rosen as well. Sephiroth does NOT want to repeat the trauma of a needless death. As he says at the end of Episode 1, his goal is to save as many lives as possible. The act of killing Genesis and Angeal on company orders would just be a reminder of him having to make needless difficult choices. And thus, he completely chooses to disengage and not get involved.
Some people might view Sephiroth's actions in Crisis Core as cowardly. But the man was trying not to relive one of the worst experiences of his life, on top of risking the lives of his friends. Sending Zack was the safer option. And I've long since believed that Sephiroth associates Zack's humorous, friendly personality with a young Angeal/Glenn. Perhaps, in some way, he views a surrogate Angeal/Glenn as a better force for good than he ever was. A surrogate Glenn could have maybe saved Rosen. And thus, prevented him from ever having to lose the people he cared about.

I think Sephiroth's first year was incredibly chaotic. In between early mako injections and other various forms of fucked up physical assessments, the level of physical contact and comfort he received wildly varied from week to week.
Sometimes, Gast or Hojo would hold him all day long. To the point where his little newborn mind associated them with all the love he had in his tiny body. They were his world. He loved snuggling against them, cradled against Hojo's chest while he worked at his desk.
Other times, Sephiroth would be left alone to cry in his cradle, attended to only by a handful of orderlies. But otherwise left to himself. After a while, Sephiroth simply stopped crying because he already knew no one would come.
they're not "dating" they're not "a couple" they're intrinsically connected and intertwined with each other for eternity. they're bound together like the stars. get with the program
