In the beginning was Loki.

Loki sired the wolf Fenrir with the giantess Angrboda.

Fenrir was the First. From him came "The Children of Fenrir " who would later be referred to "Fenriskind" and Enforcers. They hunted other shifters that broke Laws.

Their shifted forms resemble something more resembling a dinosaur than a wolf. And they are large.

Werewolves have recently started whispering of getting rid of them entirely. Enter Einar, or James, as he's commonly known, the Enforcer's Enforcer. Making sure they're adhering to the Laws themselves.

Some information about what a fenriskind shifted looks like.

Looks primarily like the image on the left. Armored scales offer protection from both attack and from chilly Arctic/sub arctic temperatures. James' scales are black with a green tint to them.

( The scales are in reference both to The World Serpent Jormungandr, and Loki's symbol being a snake.)

The back half looks like the image on the right. Something more saurian than mammalian. There's a deadly sickle claw on both back feet. Front "paws" operate like hands. Manipulate objects to an extent. Claws often get in the way.

Early sightings of fenriskind below the arctic circle may have contributed to legends like Black Shuck* and the Beast of Gevudan.

*the only inconsistency is Black Shuck's eyes are alleged to have glowed. Fenriskind's eyes don't reflect light. One (or several) may be looking at you and you'd never know they were there.

Pack hunters with cheetah speed. Can adapt bipedal motion if necessary.

James and others like him have a genetic memory. Meaning that he can recall memories of his ancestors. It also brings with it generational trauma of all sorts.

Fenriskind whelps hatch from eggs. And there is a low birth rate. Mostly because of how scattered they are and their low fertility. ( there's been a bottleneck. Think cheetahs. )

Females upon shifting are larger than their male counterparts. Like birds and dinosaurs before them.

They may look like a wolf upon first sight but they are more reptilian than mammalian.

Their bite force can shatter bones. During feeding they will eat the entire corpse. Save for the large intestine. ( Dung is a flavour they do not enjoy. )

They're pack hunters. So you see one or two of them chances are there are more in the vicinity.

Is he possessive?

In a word: yes. Norns help the poor sod that so much as looks in your direction in his presence. And if he finds out that someone else flirted with you? That person has a target on their back. Your neck will be sporting at least one hickey on any given day that ends in y.

Is he soft?

Oh Anon you have no idea. Your feet hurt after a long day? He'll massage your feet. Your back hurts? Back massage. Stressed? He'll draw you a nice warm bath. Watching movies together in pajamas. He's also an obnoxious cuddler.

Is he distant?

He *can* be. With a genetic memory, he's got generations worth of trauma to work through. And sometimes it's hard for him to separate himself from his many generations past grandfather that drowned off the coast of Iceland. He'll just kind of sit and look at nothing while getting lost in his head.

How does he feel about public displays of affection?

Descriptions typically portray the cù-sìth as an imposing beast with a distinctive dark green shaggy coat and a size comparable to a small cow—an unmistakable supernatural presence in the landscape. Highland tradition warns that this otherworldly hound hunts in perfect silence until it releases exactly three haunting barks that carry for remarkable distances—even reaching sailors far offshore. Those who hear these ominous sounds must find shelter before the third bark sounds, or risk being overcome by such paralyzing terror that death follows swiftly.

The laws have been passed along through the various enforcer clans. They uphold these Laws nearly to the letter. Some of them may turn a blind eye given the right incentive. But if they decided you fucked up enough, then no amount of coin will save your sorry skin.

Enter the Enforcers' Enforcers. You have to do something incredibly stupid to garner their attention.

Note: These laws seem to exist only for shifters.
