     studying the texts he’d been given wasn’t something eraqus did because he wanted to–––– it was his duty as an aspiring master to know the history of the keyblade, and it was his job as the eldest ( and only, in his case ) child in his family to memorize as much as possible. it was for these reasons that he forced himself to stay focused, reading and re––––reading and taking notes if he needed to.

     and that focus was why he didn’t question xehanort’s fingers brushing his own at first. he’d thought it was a mistake, and he waited patiently for his fingers to move away from his.

     but, that didn’t happen.

     slowly, eraqus glanced away from the book, peaking over at their hands and staring for a few moments. the longer his gaze lingered, the more his face seemed to grow warm, until he finally tore his eyes away to go back to the book, but his focus was gone, all of his senses honed in on the gentle touch of xehanort’s fingers against his own.

     in a bold move, even for eraqus, he slid his hand a bit closer, fingers lacing with xehanort’s own before giving a playful squeeze. his eyes never looked up from his book, but his smile spread across his face, and the flush on his cheeks spread further across his face.
