After the first meeting with Lloyd, you two slowly build your relationship in an sense. In these meetings, Lloyd would look at you differently, it was only for a moment where you see his eyes soften. After that moment you were met with his cold eyes again. You continued to look at him with sadness. Knowing what he went through, it was hell and back for him.
During one of your meetings, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of you. He had his hand on the glass barrier. This was the closest thing he could get to touching you. Apart of him longed for your comfort, to be held, since it was quite obvious that he wasn’t held enough as a child. “Do you wish we met in different place?” Lloyd voice broke through your constraining. You took a moment to think about your response, “I wish we did met in different settings. I want you to feel better.” He look at you “I don’t like it when you leave. It get too quiet.” Lloyd knew the session was almost over, and once it was he hear the voices, the quietness. “Lloyd, you know I cat stay here after the meeting is over, I have others patients to tend too.” Once he heard of your others patients he started shaking the chains. “Why do they get your attention, I need it more. Please just stay here.” He move his hand and somehow got it through the small opening for his food and medication. “Can you touch my hand, it been so long since I felt another person touch.” You hesitate, it was against rules to touch a patient, let alone someone like Lloyd. But you saw the desperation in his eyes, for some human contact. You slowly reach for his hand, only gazing his knuckles before he grab your hand. His grip was rough, you pull your hand away from his. Saying your goodbyes and leaving while Lloyd looks at his hand. It felt like magic being able to touch someone, someone that was breathing and had blood running through them. It felt unreal.
