Okay, so I’m going to be using TR’s troll lineups that they made for the fashion guide for this, just so we have a good set of images to look at. 

Rustbloods- They generally seem to have horns on the larger side, but not Too large- we’re not going to see them get excessively far away from the troll’s head. 

While they generally come in more natural/animal-like shapes, there’s some exception: see the hotdog horns on Diemen. The shapes are sometimes reminiscent of the swoops in their signs, but usually not Directly taken from there. 

Bronzebloods- Big ol’ honkin’ horns. There’s not much to say besides that. They’re LARGE. Also they seem to pretty much exclusively reflect real-world animal styles of horns, including antlers. 

Goldbloods- Troll horn double trouble, goldbloods all have more than two horns. While four seems to be the standard, Azdaja has three, implying that they can have as few as three horns. Their horns also tend to be Really spikey, you’re not going to see a lot of swooping shapes here. 

Candy red/Limebloods- N…. nubs. 

Olivebloods- They have decently sized horns that tend to have a lot more texture. As TR pointed out, they tend to look like animal ears- either with spikes that make them look “fluffy” or with nicks in them that look like the stereotypical Stray Animal Ear. 

Jadebloods- Again, some decently sized horns. They Always have a hook in them, but the hook can vary in size and placement. Slightly more swooping, but they generally tend to have much more orderly horns. 

Tealbloods- Very simple horns, comparatively. They’re for the mostpart smaller than a lot of other horns we’ve seen, though that doesn’t mean they can’t Get big. Simple shapes, simple lines, just some nice standard horns. 

Bluebloods- They have decently sized horns overall once again. They seem to all have hooks or some variety of claw at least once in their horns! 

Indigobloods- Big old arrow-shapes! Just lots of arrows here. The arrows can double up or be singular, but they sure are arrows. Except for Zebruh whose horns are… ……. ……….I’m going to say hoof-shaped. 

Purplebloods- Welcome to the clown parade. They tend to have really wonky horns that are having a fun time, but they also don’t stray Too far from the realm of reality, interestingly. There’s just lots of organic Swooping and swirling going on here. They’re also slightly more partial to horn decorations than the rest of the crew. 

Violetbloods- Waves! That’s the only real speculation to be had here, uh. Waves. 

Fucshiabloods- All fuchsias we’ve seen so far have the same horns! The standard Empress Horns. Since we have such a small sample it’s still possible there’s variation in horns within this class, but just based on what we’ve seen, Feferi’s horns are the standard.

We will start with general conclusions about Alternian fashion (bearing in mind, of course, that we still have a relatively small sample size from which to draw conclusions) and then do a quick breakdown by caste. Let’s go!

General conclusions

It looks like all trolls of the same caste have the same blood color, so you would use our alpha trolls as a color guide precisely. This means that your cuspblood fantrolls would be classed as mutants and would be treated as such.

Contrary to our prior assumptions, it seems that it is not mandatory for trolls to display their symbol in the center of a black shirt. Given that over half of the existing trolls do so, we can conclude that this is common. Furthermore, we only see two characters who display their symbol on their leg rather than their shirt or jacket, so such a thing is uncommon. There is only one troll who displays their sign on a pin that they have attached to their jacket, so that is creative but allowed.

Shirts may deviate from black, but if they do then they are typically white, grey, or blood-colored.

You don’t see trolls using a lot of color outside of their blood caste until you hit jadeblood or higher (and even then it starts with subtle accents). A notable exception is goldbloods, who use the colors of their vision two-fold as liberally as they would their blood color.

If trolls are using an accent that is neither their blood color nor the blood color of another troll, it is mostly in shades of red or pink that are different from rust and fuchsia.

Some trolls wear skirts, and some wear long shirts, but few trolls wear dresses.

Female trolls whose eyes we can see mostly have eyelash definition while male trolls largely do not.

Some of female trolls wear makeup in black or their blood color (and one of them wears undereye makeup in their blood color). Only one male troll wears makeup, so we can ascertain that Alternian gender norms fall roughly in line with Earth ones.

All trolls who have visible eyes have bags under them.

We see a few trolls with their hair in ponytails and buns! It is uncommon, but possible. Female trolls are also just as likely to have short hair instead of long hair, and male trolls seem to largely stick to short hair with just a few exceptions.

Only 3 trolls have color in their hair, and no trolls below jadeblood color their hair. Hair color is very uncommon.

Horns tend to be the same length unless broken (though goldbloods’ second set can be shorter than the first).

Horn decorations are not common, with only two characters who have respectively pierced and painted theirs.
