no one knew who the man was, as no one had seen underneath that mask, none had heard their voice. they had been dubbed 'thanatos', and where they walked, death followed.
ever accompanied by his crows, believed to be a gift from hades, scouting the dead for the acheron, the people cowered and feared he may turn his gaze upon them, for if you caught the gaze of thanatos, you would be the next to die.
'death on wings' they called him. 'acherontis'

hello! mod here, this rp blog is the thought child of me deciding what if my oc celest was running around in the city under the name thanatos.
it's actually a thought i had back in 2024 apparently and then promptly forgot about it, but it's here! lets go!

i will say now they will act a bit different here.
also thanatos uses they/he pronouns, they're asexual and aro-spec
they do not talk. the crows speak for them. how they know what they're trying to say is unclear.
they serve as hades' lieutenant and head of the ferrymen.
the only people that know thanatos' identity are hades, hephaestus, the oracle of delphi, and interestingly, ulysses, though no one knows how they found out.
he does not get along with hephaestus, who continually attempts to blackmail him by threatening to reveal their identity. (it rarely works and just gets on his nerves.)
they are very rarely violent. typically they collect the already dead or dying. if they become violent against you you have won a terrible lottery, it's hard to upset them that much.
