I will always remember when I first learned how to count. I was probably 3 or 4 years old, and was walking through the deli aisle at a Soriana (mexican grocery store) with my mom. I was reciting the numbers 1 through 10, as they had been taught to me.
Then I started thinking about what would happen when you did 10 more on top of that, and how the 1 that makes the first digit in the number 10 could just change into a 2. At that instant, four year old Luis suddenly realized that he could count to any number. There was no limit!! My mind was blown!
