"Man, you sure are intense little guy. You sure you're a kid?"

He tilted his head slightly, studying Syaoran. His question more teasing than anything else.

"I like that. Reminds me of someone I used to know. That guy never backed down either."

His grin widened then. His grip on the buster sword tightening as he brought it forward to bear, grasping it's hilt with both hands.

"Well.... since you're offering..."

He slid into a ready stance, the playful gleam never leaving his eyes as he readied himself to see what the boy could do.

Golden   eyes   narrowed,   locking   onto   Zack   with   the   focus   of   someone   who   took   every   fight   seriously,   even   the   playful   ones.   He   shifted   his   stance,   drawing   his   sword   in   one   smooth   motion.   Lightning   crackled   faintly   at   his   fingertips   before   fading   into   his   grip.   "I   don’t   plan   on   holding   anything   back.   You   shouldn’t   either."

'...Um  so  does  that  mean  you  like  it?  '  Sakura  asked  Syaoran  blushing  softly  as  her  arms  rested  behind  her  back,  abit  confused  at  his  words.  Did  he  not  have  like...fangirls  who  do  this  type  of  stuff  for  him?  he  was  quite  popular,  or  did  he  just  simply  ignore  them  all?

His   hand   gripped   the   strap   of   his   school   bag   a   little   tighter.   “And   no.   No   one’s...   ever   really   done   anything   like   that   for   me   before.   Not   like   this.”   He   looked   at   her   again,   properly   this   time,   eyes   steady,   serious,   but   something   gentle   hiding   just   beneath.   “I   don’t...   really   pay   attention   to   that   kind   of   thing.   People   doing   stuff   to   get   noticed.   But   what   you   did...   it   wasn’t   just   to   show   off,   right?”

An audible snort escapes his lips. "I am nice. You simply fail to see my niceness within my actions," He resisted the urge to snicker. "Yeah, well, Yukito knows I'm responsible when push comes to shove. How else do I keep getting hired and juggle all those jobs?"

His body went rigid. And very, very slowly his head turns focusing on Sakura with narrowed eyes, and bent down to her level.

But   before   her   dramatic   threat   could   land,   a   sudden   buzz   cut   through   the   air.   The   lights   overhead   dimmed,   not   flickered,   dimmed,   like   something   was   drawing   the   energy   out   of   the   room.   She   blinked.   “Did   you?”   And   then   the   floor   beneath   her   feet   gave   a   strange,   dull   thud   as   if   something   heavy   had   just   dropped   beneath   the   house.

A   soft   blue   glow   began   to   seep   out   from   under   the   living   room   rug,   slowly   spreading   outward   in   strange,   twisting   patterns.   Kero   burst   into   the   room,   wings   flapping   frantically.   “Sakura!   Touya!   Something’s   wrong!   That’s   not   normal   magic,   it’s   something   else!”

Sakura   instinctively   stepped   closer   to   her   brother,   wide-eyed.   “I   didn’t   summon   anything!   I   swear!”   The   glow   pulsed   again   brighter   this   time.   The   house   groaned,   as   though   adjusting   to   the   shift.   She   glanced   at   Touya,   eyes   searching   his   face.   “Okay.   Maybe   we…   maybe   we   call   a   time-out?   Just   for   now?”

Leon gets back up steadily, a weak smile on his face looking up at the other. "Eh, that can happen nearly every day where I'm from," thankfully he had enough endurance to get right back on his feet. Despite the pain flooding through his body.

The other man grins at him broadly having introduced himself. Leon reciprocated.

“Leon,   huh?   Good   to   meet   you   too,   mate.”   Zack   echoed   the   accent   with   a   smirk,   then   jerked   his   thumb   over   his   shoulder.   “Bar’s   this   way.   Might   be   a   little   grimy,   but   the   drinks   hit   hard   and   the   company’s...   well,   at   least   I’m   decent.   He   turned,   waving   for   Leon   to   follow   as   he   started   walking.   “C’mon.   You   can   tell   me   how   the   hell   you   pulled   off   that   entrance,   and   I’ll   pretend   I   don’t   think   you’re   part   of   some   weird   cosmic   prank.”

".... Even though I mess up?" His tone lowered quietly, hesitation seeps into his tone and his eyes, fingers continued to hold onto Isa's hands. "That I'm not...." smart? obedient? gullible? The fact that all this happened because of him? That Terra was nothing other than a ball of trouble?

Terra wants to take Isa into his arms. Hold him. Feel the other's body against his. "... I'm not... I make mistakes, so many mistakes, Isa. But you accept me anyway despite all my shortcomings, everything that's happened. You..."

Why was this so hard? Why couldn't he get the words out properly?

"You accept me. Flaws and all," he whispers. "I don't want to be chasing ghosts, but I.... Isa, I-I...."

He breathes.

In and out.

In and out.

Terra mantras the strategy. Counting back from zero to ten, then ten to zero.

“You   think   I   don’t   know   what   it’s   like   to   break   things   just   by   being?”   he   finally   said,   voice   hoarse,   low,   barely   above   the   thud   of   his   own   heart.   “To   try   and   try   and   still   be   the   reason   everything   slips   through   your   fingers?”   He   exhaled,   shaky,   like   it   hurt   to   breathe.   “I   don’t   want   perfect,   Terra.   I   don’t   need   flawless.   I   need   someone   who   stays,   even   when   it’s   easier   to   run.”

Isa’s   eyes   flickered,   just   for   a   second   with   something   deeper   than   pain.   Hope,   maybe.   Or   fear   disguised   as   it.   He   took   a   step   closer,   enough   for   their   shadows   to   touch.   “You   don’t   need   to   prove   anything   to   me.   But   if   you   want   to,   then   don’t   do   it   for   me.   Do   it   because   you   believe   you're   worth   it.”

The praise from Isa made a trickle of pink spread across his cheeks, shuffling awkwardly, and his heart made aflutter. To hear such words from Isa made Terra feel very, very happy.

"I like your voice too." Terra says warmly. "It's soothing yet commanding and firm, capable of stopping anything within their steps."

He   glanced   away   for   a   moment,   tongue   pressing   to   the   inside   of   his   cheek,   as   if   trying   to   fight   off   the   grin   threatening   to   form.   

“…Tch.   If   you   keep   calling   me   that,   I   might   start   expecting   it,”   he   said,   voice   softer   now.   Less   defence,   more   truth.   His   gaze   flicked   back   to   Terra’s,   steady   and   unreadable   until   the   barest   flicker   of   vulnerability   slipped   in.

“To   not   being   ghosts,”   he   echoed,   voice   a   low   hum,   steady,   resolute.   “And   to   reclaiming   what   was   ours   long   before   anyone   tried   to   strip   it   away.”   He   took   a   sip,   eyes   never   quite   leaving   the   other   now,   the   warm   light   of   the   bar   softening   the   hard   edges   usually   set   in   his   face.   “You   know,   you   keep   talking   like   that,   I’m   gonna   start   thinking   you’ve   been   reading   from   my   own   damn   journal.”   A   small   smirk   tugged   at   the   corner   of   his   mouth,   rare   and   real.

Then,   quieter,   with   something   almost   like   gratitude,   “It’s   easy   to   forget..   when   the   world   keeps   asking   you   to   prove   your   worth   to   people   who   never   deserved   it   in   the   first   place.   But   hearing   you   say   it?   Out   loud?   Yeah...   maybe   we   both   needed   that   tonight.”

He also realized this was the first time he's been to a doctor in years, the last one being when he was a young man of nineteen; but what was even more embarrassing was the fact she also blushed as well; for a moment they both sat in silence. His heart pounded hard until she spoke.

"You're...too kind." He'd clear his throat, still a bit horse, croaky voice rang out as she spoke such kind words; how his entire face was three shades darker. For a moment he was worried due to her specific words of 'fell' he did fall from the sky. "Yeah...Lily is a great ally, been so for years..." He'd pet her and she'd nudge into his hand.

"The next time you speak those words, you feel truly safe here." His normally stoic stone face façade broke momentarily. He must of been overthinking, was she proposing!? HE didn't have the time for that, he had to find his brother. He'd just nod at the statement, but honestly? It didn't sound bad.

“You’re…   welcome,”   she   said   quietly,   brushing   the   back   of   her   hand   against   her   sleeve.   “I   only   said   what   I   felt.   You   remind   me   of   someone   I   once   knew,   someone   who   carried   too   much   alone.”   There   was   a   pause,   delicate   as   falling   snow.   She   didn’t   know   exactly   what   passed   through   his   mind,   but   his   hesitation   before   responding   told   her   it   was   something   weighty.   When   he   finally   lifted   his   gaze   and   asked   for   directions   to   the   Cloud   Village—her   breath   caught   faintly.

So   that   was   it.   His   journey   was   just   beginning.   “I   see,”   she   said   gently,   stepping   back   just   slightly   to   give   him   room   to   rise.   “It’s   a   long   road…   the   Cloud   Village   lies   beyond   the   Land   of   Hot   Water,   far   past   the   northern   peaks.   But…   if   you’re   sure,   I   can   help   you   reach   the   main   outpost.   From   there,   the   shinobi   may   assist   you   further.”

She   hesitated,   not   from   reluctance,   but   quiet   conflict.   She   wasn’t   one   to   question   someone’s   path,   but   still,   “I   can   guide   you   to   the   edge   of   the   Land   of   Fire…   or   ask   someone   to   escort   you   from   the   village   if   you'd   prefer   to   go   unseen.”

Then,   her   eyes   softened   once   more.   “…But   if   you   ever   need   to   come   back,   the   Hyūga   estate   will   open   its   doors   again.”   The   words   were   not   romantic,   at   least,   not   intentionally.   But   they   held   something   steady.   A   tether.   A   promise.   She   knelt   down   once   more,   brushing   her   fingers   under   Lily’s   chin   with   a   faint   smile.
