Even the words hurt worse than the cuts did. Luna stared down at the wounds in hopeless oblivion, wondering what had come over her. Why had she done it? The fresh bandages were properly treated, the self-infliction should heal just fine, but there would still be scars.

Luna hated scars.

Had she done it to be selfish? Not even she knew. Heroines were not supposed to commit crimes upon themselves, but even heroes needed another hero of their own... "I don't need something like love, warmth is enough," she mumbled, fingering the bandages she'd definitely need later.
