The Universal Council is the primary government that represents and dominates most of not all members. Their members include planets, nebulae, galaxies, constellations and of course universes. Planets and universes often fall under three categories:
1. Universal: planets with very little natural or artificial (manmade) magic, they are believers in science and magic is a rarity and is seen as taboo or dangerous (because oftentimes it is)
2. Terrestrials: planets with no magic at all, nature is the predominant force, then comes animals then life (humans)
3. Theurgals (also known as Eternals) planets with strong magic, the magic is so powerful it can make someone sick and is treated like nuclear. These planets are extremely rare and often inhabitable, but there are ways to live in them and 26% of the habitable planets are good, the other 56% is rogue and drifting, they are called Wanderers and the other 20% were destroyed either naturally or with… ither involvements.
A majority of the planets are universal, all of this works with the magic system as a whole, especially with the planets as they are believed to be the cells and the universe that planet is from is its womb. Most magickers (a synonym of mages, wizards, warlocks and sorcerers) are from universal planets, largely protected by one of the three celestial cities, the capitals of the whole multiversal civilisation.
The Universal Council runs through a constitution which changes once every few 80-130 years to see if progression or new information needs to be implemented. It mostly is democratic and is communal with its three principles: freedom, law, family. Family does not immediately mean immediate or extended family, it’s people you are close to (a la a community) and law represents their beliefs that the law is only good and true and anyone against it is against the Council, but they fail to understand why people rebel in the first place.
The leader of the Universal Council is the Chief Ambassador or High Ambassador, who in this case has only took power 3 years ago and has 4 more years remaining until the next election or resignation.
He isn’t really that bad, but he has a severe lacking of understanding on how universal politics works (and he’s a bit daft if I’m being honest) At least he’s good to his half-French wife.
The fashion is strongly inspired by Byzantine clothing and even parts of the artwork is inspired by the art of that era. That era just had a regal vibe to it, you know?
My main inspiration was organisations like United Nations and the European Union, I majorly took inspiration from the EU for its history (and Brexit but a more forced out version in my book) and Ursula Von Der Leyen for the third most important man.
Citizens always use their Universal Profiles (basically passports) to travel and identify themselves in public.
1. We are all respected and deserving of love, even every opinion is valid.
2. We answer to every rebellion and find out our flaws.
3. Everything is free: housing, education, food, recipes, healthcare, the only thing that isn’t free is the capitalist planets.
Another thing: they don’t have money, not at all, they don’t believe in it but some planets do. Despite all of that, they have a currency: starlings, these aren’t regular “coins” they are more like gifts and not often needed but are a little “thank you.” It’s just a polite extra or a “tip”.
I love parts of the U.C, especially the Celestial Cities, but I also dislike it, there are so many reasons for it however.
Nevertheless, my next post will be about the Blue Star… then the dreaded Shadows/Shadow Army.
At some point, expect another oc art, or even my Winx movie dream which I am turning into a fanfiction!!!
