Well my Immigration interview went Incredibly well, & in the next few months I’m going to be married in America to Ajahli, so woo hoo! As a celebration have not one but two pages of Heirs this week! 2017 plans

Currently working on a rough draft business plan for the next 12 months. Obviously still in the UK for a bit longer but after spending the past few months reading up on the best way to utilize different social media platforms and where people's attention seems to be moving, I'm now trying to figure out a business model that's going to help Lunar Blaze Studio's become a viable company. At the moment there seem to be 3 different directions we could go in terms of focus, I'm just trying to figure out the best way of getting a balance of these 3 & how they can be used to maximum benefit. For those curious the 3 different branches I'm thinking about are thus.

First I think the idea of story telling the journey of a fresh immigrant living in America is going to be interesting for a lot of people, ESPECIALLY under President Trump. So daily updates of how things are going with the studio can be mixed with the trials and tribulations of getting to grips with the culture shift, the weather (cause god damn Tennessee is humid as hell) & of course being married to my partner finally.

Next is, of course, the core business of what myself & Ajahli do, & it's creating art. This is the main revenue generator, this is where we produce comics, bespoke commissions & share our own original stories and characters with the world. Right now the business plan for this is kinda figured out, we may have a few other things in the pipeline which may or may not tie into the LB Brand but that's for the future. We have at least 1 confirmed convention together this year at FWA in Atlanta, hopefully we will have some interesting new things to show off in Artists Alley, as well as promote our comics including Heirs to the Throne. The Third is kinda a return to an old abandoned project of mine from a few years back. In case you didn't know, Youtube is one of the biggest search engines on the planet, ANYTHING you want to now, these days you're more likely to look up a video of how to do it than read an article online. So if you are not doing something on youtube you are doing it wrong. Now a few years back I wanted to try my hand at the game video scene, and while I did learn quite a bit It's fair to say the return on investment at the time wasn't the best, mainly because I was putting the cart before the horse & trying to make content for attention, instead of making good content that would get attention. Since my current steam library is 'ponderous' to be kind, & 'Fucking insane' to be more accurate (dennisillustration for those interested in checking it out) I've been trying to figure a way out of bringing the gaming side of things back into what we do at LB. I have a few ideas that I'm going to be exploring with Meg this year, but I'm mainly taking inspiration from animators & Illustrators who I follow on YT who do a lot of game-based art.

Anyway, that's the general gist of things as they are on January the 1st. Of course things are subject to change over time but theses are some of the things I'm looking at over the next 12 months. Also HUGE thanks to Toneloc for actually building a Dual Monitor PC for us to work on which has been a superb game changer for us. You are a life saver mate!

So far its not been a bad week, I managed to finish not one but 3 pieces. Had an idea for AGES about Captain Phasma & the Trash Compactor in The Force Awakens, & Im fairly pleased with how that turned out. Not sure if she is however XD. Then I worked on a commission for a friend who wanted a flat shaded piece of her Dragon in a forest scene, had fun referencing the different types of trees etc, need to do more environmental stuff. Then of course the past 2 days Ive been working on this Mass Effect painting, heres Garrus looking as gorgeous as ever with my Commander Shepard. Still currently on the last few missions of Mass Effect 2 atm & really need to catch up but Ive just had too much work to do you know?

Holy crap, the opening to Old World Blues... Ok, so for those who have no idea what this is about, I recently started the Old World Blues DLC from Fallout New Vegas with Abigail, my character from the Main game. After poking around at a curious looking downed satellite, expecting some kind of movie... this happened. Hey guys, while everybody has been enjoying the new Fallout game Ive actually gone back a bit & been re-playing through New Vegas. Loving the feel of that game, & I felt like sharing my experience with you here with Abigail, my default fallout character. She's a smooth talking charmer who does whatever she can to get people on her side, she even manages to seduce the guy who shot her in the head at the start of the game! All so she can kill him & wear his suit of course. Now she lives in the Lucky 38, having re-opened the casino & changed her name to Ms House. As for the actual Mr House, he's still alive, just not in any position to get in the way of her plans for the Strip. A lady you certainly want to have on your side. This was made mainly in Artrage over a few days, then brought into Photoshop Elements for some final tweaks & lighting adjustments.
