About the Show: Fallen Memories is a cozy magic story and a love letter to autumn. It’s an audio drama about two students at a magic academy
Do you like your horror dry?
Does the sound of squelch send shivers down your spine? Is Misophonia your lifelong enemy? Do you wish you could listen to the cool new aromantic podcast everyone’s talking about, but you just want to take a towel to it?
Well, I couldn't relate less. But I hear you, my squish averse horror fans. And at long last, we are Releasing The Dry Cut.

The Gospel of Haven Novel: Published by @allographica. Coming this fall to bookstores near you.
I've been thinking about Lop from woe.begone at least once per day.
i don't think i've ever actually done a "proper" audio drama sunday post on here at any point bc something about it felt ?? scary somehow??? but this has been a pretty good listening week for me & i do always keep a record of my listening regardless so i thought i might just be brave and give it a go :>
Audio Drama Sunday 26/07/26
🛸my main focus at the moment & the bulk of my listening this week has been is scifi improv comedy Mission To Zyxx, which i've been working through at varying speeds for the past year or so now (i'm making a physical listening diary of all my thoughts & reactions as a gift for a dear friend. it's a whole Thing xoxo). this week i listened to most of the first half of the final season (501: O Others, Who Art Thou?! through to 510: The Pest of Both Worlds - Pt. 1) plus some between-season/behind-the/scenes bonus episodes. despite the fact i'm definitely missing a staggering amount of star trek references this season, the show has continued to delight me, as it has consistently the entire time i've listened. the music & sound design has been fantastic throughout but in this fifth & final season it's better than ever before. i'm very excited to see this story through to the end & am so pleased to have finally met the famed Sea Captain, who i have been hearing about secondhand for years now (!!) & cannot wait to see how it all plays out :D
aside from that ongoing quest (or i guess you could also say.. that Mission.)(…,to zyxx.....), i've been doing my best to catch up on & keep up with other shows i love, though there's only so much time in each day </3
🗂 continuing on a comedy thread, i caught up on the most recent few eps of G.O.B.L.I.N.S ! which i can always rely on for a good & silly time - i'm really enjoying how the characters & their relationships are all coming together, & honestly a little personally proud of elizabeth for how far she's come in such a short time :') there was a scene with a distant church bell that had me confused for several mins because it sounded just like my actual local one but i think that just shows how well-done the sound design is <3hehe
🏃♀️ i also listened to eps 6-8 of Something's Amiss at Juniper's House for some proper evening horror listening <3 it's interesting to come back to this after i initially listened to the first 5 eps a little while ago on a Very Long bus+then train ride, so returning to the characters felt almost like i was back in transit despite the fact i was just walking around my house. which was odd. but i think it added to the overall atmosphere. & interesting to observe how memory can do these kinds of things (thematically appropriate? maybe? tehe) also wow i am lovinggg each and every piece of gorgeous episode art that comes out
🦴 Eeler's Choice ep 11 featured some very satisfying/stressful/well-executed peril & moments that had me clapping my hands & gasping aloud in equal measure, alongside music & sound design that reliably has me closing my eyes to really Feel the impact of it all. good shit. love me some polypore puppetry
🏘 i also caught the 3rd of Shelterwood's weekly relistens (happening in the Podcast Book Club discord 👀). i've listened many times before but it's always fun to have a scheduled listening party with other people, especially when those people happen to have made the thing !! & are providing behind-the-scenes commentary !!! i've personally been reading along with the in-character annotated transcripts for these, which is really enriching my experience of the characters as well as hitting me with consistent emotional poison damage. (in a good and cool and fun way. <3)
that's all for fiction this week (i say as if that's not like 18 hours total listening time) but i did also catch the first audio issue of EAR*WAX magazine which i am absolutely LOVING. so so nice to hear about these things from people who really clearly really care. enthusiasm comes across so obviously in every aspect of the thing & it took me much longer than its runtime to get through because i had to pause and immediately follow up on Every Single Music Recommendation. all such good stuff. really glad this exists. :)
OK The End! feels kinda early but it is a Sunday afternoon for me so if anyone has objections please take it up with Time Zones thank you very much 🙏

Basically its this:
1. Yes I think tgirls should be allowed and even encouraged to transition. And while it is true to say that you don't necessarily need to do certain physical changes to call yourself a girl, often times this sentiment is shared to downplay the importance of transition and even coerce girls away from it. So I think its vital to actively support, encourage, and assist in full medical and physical transition instead of mere platitudes of "you dont have to transition to be heckin valid!"
2. That said holy FUCK would it kill you to be normal about girls with dicks?
Occupational hazards
This was on a post about how it's ignorant and privileged to wear headphones in public and I fear its already become a part of my vocabulary. Must everything harbor a moral failure.
At least there’s always trans women from fiction podcasts <3333

The first issue of @earwaxblog was INCREDIBLE. I listened to it on the train today and every aspect of it felt nostalgic and inventive at once. Great musicians being recommended, great interview and reviews, and so much care and attention put into the sounds and segments. I am already so excited for the next one!
do you guys block people after seeing a post that pisses you off
Hello! I am recasting another role! This character is for an upcoming show called Written in Stardust but he also appears in Dining in the Void (which is why I’m casting now rather than later). He’s the captain of a crew of space pirates! I’m not looking for a perfect match or anything like that, I’m just looking for someone who can bring this character to life. It is paid and casting is open until August 23rd.

Need something to get you through the work week? Try The Kingmaker Histories. It's queer, it's steampunk, it's about a woman who can blow things up with her mind, and we can almost certainly guarantee the characters are having a worse day than you are in any given episode.

Let’s talk about names and the characters! Ophelia got her name from the song Ophelia by The Lumineers (big surprise I know lol). Her name also means helper! This meaning felt fitting for the character, so that’s her name!

🪼Disability Pride Month with MERCY🪼
Since it's Disability Pride Month, I thought I'd make a post about the party and their associated disabilities. The character art for this post was commissioned from the wonderful @goldiation <3
(See below the cut for a lil' ramble and a disclaimer on the language use in this post)
WARNING - this post contains potential spoilers! Proceed with caution☠️
DOCTOR DAISY GRAY: Autism, ADHD/ADHD-traits, Severe Alexithymia
Growing up, Daisy was regarded as 'uncannily gifted', and often found other children insufferable and tedious. Social cues, etiquette, and emotions are concepts that consistently elude her, and though she enjoys being somewhat of an iconoclast, she still masks and has anxieties regarding the people she cares about. Daisy also possesses ADHD traits, which causes her to seek out dopamine-inducing activities. This includes seeking out novel experiences, (dangerous) knowledge, and throwing herself into perilous situations. (This predilection for danger may or may not have put her in the path of a certain eldritch entity.)
LILA SASSOON: CPTSD, Anxiety, Depression
Lila has nightmares & extremely vivid dreams of 'unknowable things' that causes her to sleepwalk. These dreams can linger well into her waking hours, which has her questioning the state of her reality and memories. Fluctuating bouts of anxiety and depression has persisted into her adulthood, and even now she slips into episodes when going through difficult events. In her social interactions (of which there are many), our lovely librarian has a tendency to mask and script for Reasons™. While she does enjoy talking to people and socializing in general, it takes a mental & physical toll on her. Lila also suffers from mild chronic pain that is seemingly random and without explanation. While long hot baths and rest are ideal, she finds the most comfort in her books, writing, and of course, Daisy.
LORD PAXTON CROSS: PTSD, BPD/BPD-traits, Depression, Chronic Pain (TBI/CRPS), Cane & Wheelchair User
Paxton was wounded in action during the Civil War which left him with chronic pain and reduced mobility - predominantly in his left leg. Upon his return from the war, he experienced acute PTSD and severe depression that took years to recover from. Paxton's internalized ableism gives him a complex about using his wheelchair in public: while his cane could be mistaken as a fashion accessory or a clever disguise for his blade, a wheelchair makes his disability undeniably visible. Fear of abandonment, emotional dysregulation, and intense emotional attachments has caused him to become the black sheep in every facet of his life. Past romantic entanglements have always been intensely passionate and all-consuming - and painfully, distressingly brief.
WAYNE SAWYER: PTSD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia
Wayne never enjoyed school, since he was constantly punished and mocked for his difficulty with letters & numbers, absentmindedness & poor emotional regulation. Despite having a natural intelligence and giftedness in subjects such as creative arts (drawing and music), trade work, engineering/mechanics, agriculture, etc. he was always made to feel impotent in a household that valued a specific type of intelligence. Wayne also struggles with PTSD-induced anxiety and panic attacks, as well as bouts of derealization & depersonalization that can persist for weeks and months at a time.
