The outsiders act 2 thoughts!
Okay so first of all, our intermission was extended because of a tech issue but also everyone's phones started going off because of a TORNADO WARNING!!!!!! got really scared theyd stop the show
Justice For Tulsa was one of my favorite songs when I listened to the show non-stop
I don't think I have many thoughts on JFT besides Dally looking super miffed the entirety of his solo. He looked ready to kill the cop.
Darry and Soda also looked not happy to talk to the cops like, they looked really fed up with the questioning
OH WAIT WAIT WAIT JAYDONS SCREAM???? WHEN HE GETS BURNED BY THE CIGARETTE??? OH MY GOD YOU WOULDVE THOUGHT HE'D BEEN SHOT
Where I was sitting, there were speakers that blocked the top of the church where Johnny and Ponyboy sat so that was great. But it wasnt a big scene so 🤷♂️
Again, bad memory, but I think afyer that was the scene wirh Darry and Dally. Two hurt angry people going up against one another OGGUHGGHHGGJGHH dude I was on the edge of my seat I was so stressed out. Theyre such incredible actors though like genuinely the tension felt real I thought one of them was gonna swing
Sodapop looks like hes on the verge of tears for the entirety of Act 2
During Throwing In the Towel, I don't think I've ever heard a Sodapop more scared. Genuinely I think Corbin was crying harder than I was.
DARRY AND SODAS HUG WAS SO AGGRESSIVE OHHHH IM SO SICK DUDE WHYYYYYWOULD THEY DO THAT DO THEY WANT ME DEAD
ponyboy sounded SO offended "Burt Lancaster's a SISSY!!!!!!!!!" like damn okay dude

okay pause I forgot to mention this in my Act 1 post, but Jordan's Great Expectations AND FAFT is so interesting to me because im so used to the opt up but deadass I think I prefer it without the opt up
okay anyways back to Act 2
Deaths At My Door nearly killed me. Pony takes Johnny's switchblade but like, Johnny doesnt do anything just yet. He just kneels down to get on Pony's level so he can do the "I had no reason to..." and then holds his hand out, which Ponyboy places the blade into
THEYRE SO FREEEAKING HAPPY TO SEE DALLY OHHHH MY GOSH THATS THEIR BROTHER
Johnny runs full speed into Dally's arms and Pony gives him an awkward side hug
"...... DOILOOKLIKEJULIEANDREWS. 😟" he's so fourteen it's killing me
OKAY BACK TO ACT 1 BECAUSE I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS TOO. When Johnny and Ponyboy go up to sit next to Cherry, Jordan does this goofy little swagger and then sits like, kinda sideways on the bench before scooting closer to Cherry.
Dally is so hurt and is so convinced that his way is right and works and needs it to work the same way for Johnny and Ponyboy because they can't end up in worse ways like he had. AUGH
ALSO THE CHURCH SCENE WAS SO INTERESTING TO ME WHAT. Was not expecting it to go that way. The projections of little kids and then the wood planks that Ponyboy bursts through with Johnny following after him. BUT LIKE DALLY DOESNT HESITSTE TO FOLLOW EITHER. HE IMMEDIATELY GOES AFTER THEM WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT. HE CARES SO MUCH.
Jaydon's Two Bit is such a jolly little fellow hes just happy to be there
Dally already looks ready to run infront of a train by the time they drop Johnny off in the hospital
Jordan's Ponyboy feels so.... tragic to me. Like, it feels like he already knows Johnny isn't gonna make it. He still believes that he brings death with him and he knows it's latched onto Johnny.
Katie's Cherry so desperately needs to be heard. She needs more than anything someone to listen to her and the one person that could do that just can't.
When Ponyboy says "Do it for Johnny!" His voice sounded so tight and he had the tiniest little voice cracj ohmygod he knows Johnny isnt gonna make it.
Yeah Darry and Paul are gay
I dont even know how to express my thoughts on the rumble. They performed it at The Tony's but there's something so different about seeing it live???? Like I dont even know how to express how it made me feel I was in such awe ive never been more enamored by a show goodness.
When Johnny dies, Ponyboy backs away slowly while going "oh no, nononono.." and then falls to his knees at the foot of Johnnys bed.
A little bit after that, he sits by the side of Johnnys bed, Two Bit walks over and stands by Johnny's head, but like Sodapop sits by Ponyboy and Ponyboy lunges into him and sobs into his lap.
I've never seen a more emotional Little Brother

Jordan's Ponyboy seems scared to hurt Darry when they get into a fight. Like he WANTS to hurt him, but he's scared to do it.
Also Katie's Cherry seems so scared to be there. Like, she walks into their house and looks like SHE killed Bob and Johnny AND Dally. She's so ogugjhhgjggbhbhnnhhhnh
Also whoever decided Ponyboyy and Johnny should sit next to eachother during Stay Gold you are EVIL
