Since I already know your thoughts about the Jenna x Gwen ship, what do you think about the Catherine x Gwen one? Personally, I think it‘s cute since people started shipping the actresses together due to the Morissa Fandom. The GwenCat (what they call it) Fandom is much more respectful and nice actually, like it is so crazy??? they‘re fully aware that both have partners and do not throw shade at Michael or Giles !!! I do not tolerate any ship between real people on my feed. I thought this much was obvious. I do not care whether the shippers are "aware" or that they don't throw shade at the actual partners (thank goodness they don't).
I think shipping real people together, especially people you don't know (and outside of their known sexuality too) is weird as fuck. It's like shipping your dentist and their assistant, or two teachers together. Creepy, intrusive, disrespectful. Only this is worse because most people haven't even met the actors they ship together.
I know some celebrities are aware of the ships about them and laugh about it. In which case, I guess I'm not that opposed to the thing as long as it's made with humorous intent. But most of the time it isn't, so I really can't care for it.
We're not talking about characters, people that don't exist, words on paper or images on a screen, false stories. We're talking about actual human beings. I don't think anyone should get to invent stories about them or fantasise about romantic or sexual situations with those very real people.
So I don't ship Gwendoline with anyone but Giles, and I'm not a Catherine fan, but I hope she's very happy with her partner and don't wish to see her with anyone else.
