Bugs
Florida wood roach aka palmetto bug (Eurycotis floridana). it was running around my dad's shed where he makes calcium powder, hence the white dust.
Cute roach... It was considerably heavy, loved feeling it's little tarsal claws on me. Lovely lovely... 🪳🪳🪳 Adorable roachy
Oh, the pill bug...
Lymantria sp. ◆ Erebidae, Lymantriinae — Those antennae can detect a single pheromone molecule

Step over ants. Put worms back in the grass. Rescue baby caterpillars. Release spiders back into your garden. Open a window for a bee to fly home. They are all little souls that deserve a life too.

Curly antennae hehe
Meet arthropleura!
Just, yk... the biggest (land) arthropod to exist. (I could be wrong 🤨)
And guess what... IT'S- ...actually NOT a centipede. They are relatives to modern millipedes actually! (Let's welcome our cousin millipede for this post)

Momma centipede hugging her babies 🥺
(Cw: baby centipedes moving)
Found a paper wasp grooming itself of dust after trying to exit through a window, dw I immediately released it after this video
Centipedes groom themselves, several times a day!
They clean their lil antennae with their mouth (kinda like cats lol) and it's so cute aaahhh
(they groom their whole body btw, just to be clear nshshshds)

green hairstreak (callophrys rubi)
Aaaahhhh I just got chosen by a jumping spider! He is so friendly and he picked me!!! I've been wanting one to take care of and one dangled down in my car and I put my hand under him and he acted like that's just what he planned.
...I was still twenty minutes from home and he got bored and RAN UP MY SLEEVE after a few minutes watching the road from my hand. I did not realize my elbows were so ticklish. Let me tell you Frank Oz would be amazed by the sounds I made! 14 minutes being ticked while trying to drive was not on my bingo card for today.
But CLEARLY he is meant to be a pet because I can't leave him in the car. And the way he acts? IMMEDIATELY friendly, fine with being held, content sitting while I talk to him?
I think I'll name him Mira for Miracle. Though I also like Velora. I think he's a boy because his Pedipalps have little marshmallows on the end. I'll need to get photos and maybe some folks can help her figure out what species he is and how to best take care of him. I'm still amazed at how friendly he is. He currently looks like he's trying to land an airplane.
