Moral of my post is to please not jump to conclusions and call something weird or gross without being respectful to what it possibly could connect with. I myself am Chinese and from the province Jiangxi and seeing the chinese culture miraculous does include even if not 100% accurate is so heartwarming to me.

Chat has been concerning me this season, learning that he is now afraid to tell Ladybug who he is (wreckless driver), fearing his own powers (lady chaos, although he has been fearing them for a while), and now not wanting to burden anyone else with being a superhero.

Early Chat Noir desperately wanted ladybug to know who he was, he was a lot more confident with his powers, and he would have leaped at the chance to have a buddy that can tap in when he’s not there.

i noted this in my own post, but it's interesting how this episode happened immediately after heartfixer, an episode where chat noir made the decision to detransform and save marinette without any superpowers at all. idk if that'll even end up being relevant but his actions that episode and his comments at the end of this episode makes me think it might end up relating to his thought process somehow.

There's a difference between what cataclysm can do and being a superhero. If Adrien is scared of his power, he can just not call upon it; he has other powers than cataclysm, so he can get by, as fear of cataclysm is more about restraint and responsible usage of it.

And don't even bring him, seemingly killing Monarch, as Adrien doesn't know that. He knows he harmed Monarch, but not enough to stop him, as according to the lie he's been fed, Monarch was defeated by Gabriel, and even if Adrien knows it's BS, he can still tell that the cataclysm didn't kill him; Gabriel killed himself.

People also should stop treating Wreckless Driver as an absolute telepath as she just isn't one. All the fears she saw were things anyone could guess: Aglae fearing bugs, well no duh everyone already knew that; a guy being scared of cars, shit I'd be too scared shitless if a crazy car was speeding through the streets and kidnapping people, I'm either getting run over or packed; Chat Noir being scared of revealing his identity - he's a superhero with double life, what else is he supposed to be afraid of? We know Adrien wanted to tell LB his identity, but he sure as hell would not want to tell this to an akumatized villain, which was what he was about to do. Furthermore, Wreckless Driver didn't know him, and with her other predictions being guesses, she simply guessed Chat would be scared to reveal his identity as he should be.

And no, Adrien never would leap into the idea of having a buddy to tap in for him to be Chat Noir, as Chat Noir was his freedom, and Plagg is his kwami. Do you really think Adrien would like the idea of quitting? Every time he quit before is because LB kept breaking his heart, not because he found life hard. He even mourned losing that life, but was too tired of LB's valid rejection to stay. Adrien never intended to have a replacement, and it's not because he doesn't want to burden anyone with the superhero life; at most, he just doesn't want to bother anyone.

So no, Adrien was acting, he was bullshitting, and you people are all falling for it. This season, characters lie and get good at it. Adrien in Climactiqueen said that he loves being a superhero, it's a passion that's sincere, the one that gives him his life's meaning. Adrien doesn't suddenly have second-guesses about it, especially as there was no episode introducing it. Adrien is just acting meekly because he knows people will buy into it, as they do think Adrien can be meek (due to abuse), and they're somewhat justified, as he in the past was like that, and even if he changed, hardly anyone could tell or notice, so Adrien capitalized on it to get away from a sticky situation.

Soooo… I guess we won’t get Adrien revealing his identity to Nino. :(

But honestly this scene felt very significant. Adrien probably doesn’t want someone else to feel the guilt he feels about not being there to save his dad.

Also, Ladybugs reaction does feel very telling, too. I’m not sure exactly what she is thinking in this moment, but it probably has something to do with the burden she is carrying as Ladybug.
