its obvious hes impressed and growing fond of luffy through this, and it also adds on the fact he seemed so disgusted with the fact that luffy lost focus on katakuri for that brief moment, it made katakuri rethink what kind of person he is. instead of someone steadfast and without fear, he sees someone that becomes swayed and anxious at the worst times, someone undependable. which is why hes so pissed when he realizes flampe interfered - he allowed his perceptions of luffy to be altered due to something luffy couldnt control, just like how people made fun of him for his mouth. but when luffy sees, his expression doesnt change, and you can tell this means a lot to katakuri as a person, because his eyes widen, then you can see his expression harden. katakuris obviously physically stronger, but luffy has an emotional strength and willpower that not many people have - and while this dialogue isnt spoken aloud, its still tangible in their expressions and blows and i find this silent communication fascinating
