Just remembered that Jlaire isn’t canonical anymore. Like they never fought goblins together in the forest, save each other from the shadow realm or anything. All those fights are no longer canon. Like sure, Claire MIGHT be helping Jim and Toby fight trolls in the new universe, but there’s also a chance Jim remembers everything abt Claire but can’t get with her.

I have the headcanon that Jim is a sleepwalker, but at the worst times, like, not at night, but rather when he falls asleep, he falls asleep in class, in the middle of Blinky's explanations, things like that.
Sleepwalking is not just walking in your sleep (lol), it's also the reflection of habits, when I fall asleep in class my classmates have told me that I usually write in my notebooks and i feel Jim would
i dont "go on walks," i dont "use character sheets" and i dont "plot before writing," i raw dog it, and if it doesnt flow, I FUCKING CRY.
One thing I forgot to mention in my previous theory post about HTTYD and Arcadia Tales is the similarity between the Hidden World and the Troll Market.
Besides the predominant colors being similar, both places share at least similar characteristics.
A hidden place filled with many gems and precious stones, with a large bioluminescent yellow stone at its center.
Despite the many differences between the two places, it's easy to compare them, especially considering that the Hidden World was only recently inhabited by dragons in HTTYD. While the Troll Market is a region long inhabited by self-aware creatures with mining and construction techniques that may have greatly altered the place. (in addition to natural phenomena altering the geography of the area over time).
It's not a solid theory, but it's an interesting idea that I like to believe in.
